The Magnificent Merlot brought us safely through the history and destinies of the poor witches of York. A very nice experience! Such a knowledgeable and humble guide. Should be credited for doing this tour in a woolen hat during a heatwave. 30 degrees today.
This walking tour was excellent. The guide had a great balance of history, “witchy” references, and humor.
Cornelius did an excellent job guiding us through the city and putting on an excellent performance while sharing true stories from York's past. Highly recommended!
Cornelius provided a fun tour around the city - giving us interesting insights in a fun and informative fashion. This was a great introduction to York and took us into parts of the city we wouldn’t gave otherwise discovered.

Fabulous tour of the city with a great mix of comedy and storytelling. Entertaining and engaging, Cornelius gave us a great tour around the city, pointing out bits we certainly would’ve missed.

The walking tour was fantastic! Cornelius Piper was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many fascinating historical facts with the group. We learned loads of interesting things about York and had plenty of laughs along the way too. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting York – it’s a great way to see the best parts of the city and discover the stories behind its streets!
Nutmeg was a wonderful guide who told the stories of the witches with knowledge and humour. My husband and I enjoyed the tour very much and added a touch of magic to our time in York.
I think this was quite expensive compared with other experiences we had in York, for example the York Castle museum which is amazing and extremely good value for a very similar price to this witch tour and the ghost bus tour which was a lot more informative. The lady leading the tour was lovely and friendly but it was very difficult to hear what she was saying at times during to other noises around us, for example people enjoying a drink and a chat outside pubs we passed, a couple of times that we stopped we couldn’t hear anything she was saying above the noise from the public around us.
