Turmuligheder
Rejseplan

We had a great experience on our tour , it was self guided the grounds were lovely, lots of history to take in very informative.
A must-do if you are in Louisiana! A deeply moving place that tells the history of slavery from the perspective of the enslaved people. Here, the victims of the slave trade and plantation exploitation regain an identity: names, ages, stories... The steles and memorials are particularly poignant. They allow you to concretely measure the scale of this tragedy and pay tribute to those whose history has too often been erased. I absolutely recommend the tour in French with Émeline. Originally from Pau, she knows Louisiana remarkably well and conveys the history with a great deal of knowledge, sensitivity, and humanity. An essential visit to understand an essential part of Louisiana's history. Not to be missed.
The overall experience was so amazing. It was the perfect amount of time to learn about it all and still take some time to just enjoy the experience. The guide was lovely! I felt very safe and very welcomed.
Educational and enlightening. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing everything up close and personal.
I know it sounds odd. A tour of a former slave plantation followed by a swamp ride in the Cajun bayou, but if you’re into history like I am, and want to see live gators, this tour is for you. . Dionne and the driver did a magnificent job making us feel comfortable, with Dionne being quite knowledgeable of NOLA’s history. We stopped by that “pretty little plantation down the road” for lunch, which after seeing Whitney, was weird and gross. The swamp ride was pretty taxing in 96-degree heat, and the tour guide could have piped it down a notch, but I enjoyed seeing the wildlife, and holding an alligator!
Little confusing with self guided tour, direction not clearly mark. Overall, very educational. Bring lunch. Only drinks and chips sold in store.
Dionne was the best bus tour guide for gray line tours, she is very knowledgeable.
Dionne is a proud professional on our tour guide roster. We are proud to have her as well. Thank you.
Easy baby great tour for the money with Robert, Donald and Captain Tomm. We had a great time will do again.
Come do it again and they will love seeing you. Those three are a prize winning team.
I had a wonderful experience. It was my first time visiting New Orleans. I booked through viator, the meeting point was easy to locate and Glen from grayline was our driver. He was very pleasant and gave us a little history about the plantations during the ride. The Whitney Plantation itself gave great insight of what the slaves had endured. We did the self guided tour and it was easy to follow and very informative.
It is an honor for our tour to be part of your first visit to New Orleans. Thank you for all the comments and the 5 stars. We hope you return to our city.
This plantation tour was both informative and deeply reflective. As a Black woman living in America, I recognize that this museum tells the story of a time that shaped my ancestors’ lives. I felt the museum did an amazing job of honoring the lives and experiences of the enslaved people with dignity and respect. Throughout the tour, there were opportunities to sit, rest, and reflect, which were especially meaningful since some of the exhibits evoked deep emotions. I highly recommend visiting the Whitney Plantation to anyone seeking an honest and impactful look at this important part of American history. The Grey Line bus service also provided a friendly and knowledgeable driver, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable.
Your review is insightful and thank you for sharing it with others who might be contemplating a visit to our city. We are pleased that our Gray Line services and staff added to your 5 star rating.
