Hop ombord på vores luksusbiler for at udforske den ikoniske Whitney Plantation. Om morgenen på din tur vil vores chauffør ringe til dig før deres ankomst og vil også hilse på dig, når han eller hun ankommer. Mens han eller hun rejser ud til plantagen, påpeger han eller hun interessante fakta undervejs og lytter til forskellige typer New Orleans-jazzmusik. Ved ankomsten til plantagen vil de tjekke dig ind og give dig information til begyndelsen til slutningen af turen, såsom hvad du skal udforske efter turen, og hvor du skal mødes, når turen er slut. Den selvguidede tur er en time og femten minutter, vi giver vores gæst tid til at udforske museet og bruge toilettet, før vi går tilbage til byen. Denne tur går ud to gange kl. 8.00 til cirka 13.30. og 10:00 til cirka 15:30. denne tid inkluderer tur og rejsetid.

Inden for grænserne af "Habitation Haydel", som Whitney Plantage oprindeligt blev kendt, var historien om Haydel-familien af tyske immigranter og de slaver, de holdt, sammenflettet. I 2014 åbnede Whitney Plantation sine døre for offentligheden for første gang i sin 262-årige historie som det eneste plantagemuseum i Louisiana med fokus på slaveri. Gennem museumsudstillinger, mindesmærkekunst, restaurerede bygninger og hundredvis af førstepersons slavefortællinger vil besøgende på Whitney få et unikt perspektiv på livet for Louisianas slaver.

A unsugared version of a plantion tour. Preserved or rebuilt building brings the time period to life. I recommend a guided tour, though they offer a self guided tour.
Take a fan on hot days. Beautiful old building. Love that they give you a hand held device to listen to a narrator about the people, land and history. They also had spray mist areas to cool off. You can leisurely walk the property at your own pace or have a guilded tour.
Everything was great from pickup to drop off. The only problem was hearing the van driver as he didn’t use a microphone and the road noise over powered his voice in a 12 -14 passenger van.
Absolutely recommend this to anyone who is a visitor to New Orleans. We are visiting from Australia and were not sure what to expect as we didn't have a US phone contact - however, we were called by a lovely lady to inform our driver was on his way and what we should expect. Then we met the lovely Edward, who is a NO native. He warned us of his "southern charm" which was brilliant and knowledgeable! He told us of the New Orleans and Louisiana history on the way to the plantation. When we arrived at Whitney plantation, he directed us and gave us a time to meet for return to our hotel. He waited there the entire time whilst we explored, etc. Felt more like a day out with friends rather than strangers. 10/10!
Even though the pick up was running late (things happen!) I would def recommend it! Excellent communication. Our driver/tour was great!

Our driver was great and very knowledgeable. He was professional, punctual, and kept us on schedule throughout the trip. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting New Orleans!
It was a wonderful excursion. Our guide Edward, was phenomenal. He shared so much more than what was at the museum.
You are on your own when it comes to adjustments due to weather. We had tornado and flood warnings. I called to see if the trip to the plantation was cancelled. Viator told us to check with the sponsor. We called, and were told to leave a message, and that they would get an answer on the next business day! It was FRIDAY! We took an Uber to the meeting place ($20), and was THEN called to reset the tour at noon! We had plans. Another $20 home. Viator should ALWAYS be able to get in touch with the sponsor, and be expected to make sure that we were notified! I am out $40, which was 2/3 the cost of the tour itself! Crappy business that I will never trust again!
This was my second time with Legendary Tours and it was just as amazing as the first time. Edward was do knowledgeable and funny. He alone is worth the ride but the destination is the Plantations which, is another experience all on its own. Do yourself a favor and book immediately!
