If you’re choosing just one day trip in the Whitsundays, make it Zig Zag. We went last Monday and it was easily the standout. I’ve previously done Red Cat and Ocean Rafting on earlier trips to Airlie Beach, and we’d also done the Viper Tour the day before (which was disappointing, but that’s a different review!). Zig Zag ticks every box. The boat is comfortable, feels very safe, and the crew are friendly, knowledgeable, organised, and genuinely responsive. The beach stop was stunning, the snorkelling was excellent, and the food and drink options were far better than expected. We struck perfect weather, but even if it turned rough, this is the boat you’d want to be on. There’s plenty of covered space downstairs if you need a break from the elements, while the front and top deck still have plenty of spots to soak up the sun. As a bonus, we even got to do some whale spotting. The skipper was quick to slow down and stop so everyone could enjoy watching them without rushing off, which was a pretty special experience. What also stood out was how much they clearly care about the reef. It wasn’t just about getting people in and out of the water. They took the time to educate everyone and made sure the experience was done responsibly. Highly recommended. We’d book Zig Zag again in a heartbeat.
Zig zag snorkelling and Whitehaven beach full day tour was amazing. The guides were excellent and very attentive to our needs. The organisation was fantastic. Whitehaven beach is beautiful as was the walk to the lookout. The snorkelling was spectacular (although a bit cold in July as would be expected). It’s not cheap but the costs are justified and a trip to whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef would not be complete without such a tour!
Amazing day! Everything went very smoothly. Had a delicious lunch in the boat and they had great gluten free options.
Zig Zag do it again! Our second trip with them in 2 years. They were just as good this year as they were last. They were amazing with our children and all round great staff. We couldn't recommend zig zag enough ♡
The best family-friendly boat and snorkeling tour in Airlie Beach! From the moment we stepped on board, the crew went above and beyond to make sure every guest had an amazing experience. They were so kind, welcoming, and incredibly playful with our kids, making them feel included and excited throughout the day. We had such a fantastic time both at the beach and at the snorkeling spot. Everything was so well organised, and it was clear that safety and fun are their top priorities. The crew created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that everyone, young and old, had a wonderful day. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will absolutely be recommending this tour to all our friends and family. Thank you for an unforgettable day!
Fabulous day out. Professional staff who were also very friendly and more than happy to answer any questions. I was was very nervous as i am not very confident in the water and staff continually checked in with me. Food was lovely and we had plenty of time both snorkelling and on the glorious beach. We did another trip to a pontoon with a different organiser which was infinitely poorer (and far more expensive) than this trip. Highly recommend
Great operation to use to visit Whitehaven Beach. Staff was so friendly and wonderful to spend the day with. Everything on the boat was safe and clean and well thought out. The snacks and lunch were delicious. It was a wonderful day at one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
Amazing day trip out to Whitehaven Beach. The ZigZag crew were friendly and professional. The food on board was great. Highly recommend.
What a wonderful day!! The snorkelling was fantastic, we swam with turtles, beautiful coloured fish and bright coral. We were given morning tea with lovely slices, muffins & fruit. Followed by a lunch with plenty of different salads and meats and finished the day with a charcuterie board. The crew were all so lovely and accomodating, they helped our family with 2 very small children, older grandparents (one who had a broken elbow) you really could tell this tour was run by a family owned company.
The only issue was we assumed it was AUD but the cost ended up in USD so was a lot more expensive it the staff were great.
