Friday, August 07, 2026 at 09:30 AM 2 Adults St. John's, Lafayette Square, 1525 H St NW, Washington, DC 20005, USA I contcted the Mayflower hotel concierge snd Paula said she has contact with Viator. She did and called me back at the pick up site and said it was too late. They had left. She told me that she knows the business well and she explained to the company representative what happened yesterday morning and asked the company. If they could refund the tour fee $98. She told me that they would and would contact us. In the meantime, I sent an email to the Viator contact according to the tour ticket, asked if we could do a later tour same day, Friday or an alternate for Saturday, today. I received two contexts, one said they have received a request for refund and were processing. One more following said they reviewed our request and it was rejected. We are scheduled to depart from the Mayflower Hotel here in DC tomorrow morning Sunday. I am a Vietnam era veteran having served in Asia during that periid. We were so excited for weeks that we would be able to take this tour during our three day stay in DC. Now that has become disappointment. Thank you for listening to my explanation. For your White House and National Mall Highlights with Lincoln Memorial tour on 7 August, the tour operated as scheduled and our guide was present at the designated meeting point at the scheduled departure time. As with all our experiences, the guide must depart promptly so that guests who arrive on time can enjoy the full itinerary and any pre-arranged elements of the tour. Unfortunately, once the tour has departed, we cannot delay the group or arrange a later departure on the same booking. The meeting point, departure time and arrival instructions are provided on the booking confirmation in advance, and guests are advised to review these details carefully and arrive early. While we understand that you were unable to locate the group, being in the general area does not allow our guide to identify or wait for guests who have not checked in at the designated meeting point. This tour is consistently rated 5 stars by guests who attend, with reviews regularly highlighting the knowledge and engaging approach of our guides. Overall the tour was pretty good but it was a shame we couldn’t get closer to the White House due to all the construction. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

It was extremely hot. I thought it was a ride and see your but it was walking. There was no place to purchase water along the way. Our guide walked so fast and talked before we all gathered to hear her information and then never really left time for pictures! I was disappointed.

Weather was dangerously hot and because of 4th of July could not get to Pennsylvania Avenue to see White House. My wife actually over heated and we had to drop out for her safety. I would ask for refund if possible. I will say the guide was nice. Even the main 250th fair closed because of the dangerous heat. The 4th of July parade was also canceled because of the heat. This tour should have been canceled.

Check the weather, check what was really happening coz a lot of road and places were closed and the weather was so hot, all that walking in the heat was enough for a person to pass out. Had to leave the group coz couldn’t tolerate the walking with temps of 100s.

We didn’t get near the White House. Barricades and fences kept us from being anywhere near it. It was VERY disappointing!!!

Security fencing around the White House and National Mall is set by federal authorities for safety reasons and is outside our control, especially during periods of heightened security.
