⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A truly unforgettable experience with Water4Fun! 🐋🐬🌊 We would like to say a huge thank you to the entire Water4Fun team for an experience that will undoubtedly stay in our memories forever. Our trip was initially rescheduled because the sea conditions were not ideal. At the time, we completely understood the skipper’s decision to avoid taking customers out to sea and to wait for better conditions. After experiencing the trip ourselves, we now appreciate even more just how sensible and responsible that decision was. The skipper showed a tremendous concern not only for safety, but also for the quality of the service the company wants to provide. On the day our trip was rescheduled, we saw other companies going out to sea. Not long afterwards, several of those boats were already returning to the harbour, with people completely soaked and some even feeling seasick and vomiting because of the rough conditions. Water4Fun chose not to go out to sea and potentially lose some customers rather than provide a poor-quality experience. And that says a lot about a company: they understand that it is not all about money, and that the safety, comfort and experience of their customers must always come first. 👏 And what a wonderful decision it was to wait! On our trip, we had the opportunity to see two types of whales sei whales and sperm whales as well as common dolphins, Atlantic spotted dolphins and, finally, the beautiful Risso’s dolphins, plus a sea turtle. 🐋🐬🐢 Throughout the journey, our guide was fantastic, providing us with lots of information and explanations about the animals and everything that was happening around us. The skipper demonstrated incredible experience, always knowing where to go and alerting us at exactly the right moment, especially whenever a whale surfaced. All of this made the trip truly unforgettable and memorable. We also have to congratulate the person who was high up on the mountain, carefully watching the sea and giving the team directions about the animals they could spot. The work of the entire team, both on the boat and on land, made a huge difference! 👏🔭 But the adventure wasn't over yet. On our way back to the harbour, we stopped near a cave where we had the chance to see some crabs climbing up the walls some of them bright red! 😍🦀 It was one of those unexpected little moments that made the experience even more special. On the way back to the harbour, our guide also gave us a wonderful summary of the whole trip, bringing a fantastic experience to a perfect conclusion. Without a doubt, choosing Water4Fun was the right decision. The boat is extremely comfortable and feels very safe, but above all, it was the responsible and professional decisions made by the entire team that made everything perfect. We only saw dolphins during the tour, which gives the impression that there is some difference between the expectation created by the promotion and what is most likely to be found. With so many groups of dolphins around the island, it is easy to find some. Whale sightings, on the other hand, seem to be much less frequent. Based on the experience of this tour, I would say that, hopefully, the probability of spotting whales could be around 50%, if so. Therefore, it is advisable to moderate the expectations of those who buy a tour advertised essentially as a whale watching trip. I didn't notice the option to sail to the east side of the island when all the other vessels went west. The next day, I went to the Monte Brasil lookout point and confirmed that there is a lookout there looking for whales. However, the east side is not particularly favorable for observation from that point: in the morning, a large part of the area is chained by the sun, which rises in the east, and another part is not visible from the vantage point. So, during the tour, it ended up being mostly the guide, on board, looking for possible sightings. If the expectation was just to see dolphins, I would consider the tour quite satisfying. Since whale watching is the main announced objective, the experience falls short of expectations. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to present these tours as dolphin and, eventually, whale watching, making it clear that whale sightings can be rare and depend on conditions. In this way, the expectations would be more realistic.

A nossa atividade é uma experiência de observação de cetáceos em ambiente selvagem e, por essa razão, não é possível garantir antecipadamente quais as espécies que serão observadas. Esta informação é transmitida aos nossos clientes durante o processo de reserva, é reforçada na introdução feita antes da saída e encontra-se também expressamente indicada nos termos e condições disponíveis no nosso website. Os animais encontram-se em liberdade e os seus movimentos não são previsíveis, pelo que cada saída é diferente. O objetivo do passeio é a observação de cetáceos, nomeadamente baleias e golfinhos. Embora internamente demos prioridade à procura de baleias, não deixamos de procurar e observar outras espécies de cetáceos que possam ser encontradas durante a saída. É importante referir que nenhuma empresa conseguiu avistar baleias no dia em que realizou a sua saída, e que nem sempre encontramos tantos grupos de golfinhos, nem grupos tão numerosos, como aconteceu no seu passeio. Relativamente às probabilidades de observação, os dados da nossa operação nesta época não correspondem à perceção indicada no comentário. Temos atualmente uma taxa de avistamento de cetáceos de 100% e uma taxa de avistamento de baleias superior a 70%. Naturalmente, estes valores são estatísticos e não constituem uma garantia para cada saída individual: é perfeitamente possível realizar um passeio em que sejam observados apenas golfinhos, tal como também é possível ter uma saída com observações de várias espécies, tanto de baleias como de golfinhos. Quanto à decisão de navegar para o lado este da ilha, a nossa rota é definida em função da informação fornecida pelo vigia e das condições meteorológicas e marítimas do momento, tendo sempre como prioridade a segurança dos nossos passageiros e, simultaneamente, as melhores condições possíveis para a observação. No dia da sua saída, a navegação esteve condicionada pelo quadrante e pela intensidade do vento. Não nos cabe pronunciar-nos sobre as decisões tomadas por outras empresas, mas podemos esclarecer que, durante a nossa saída, e ao contrário do que referiu, passámos por várias outras embarcações que se encontravam também naquela zona. Compreendemos que, para quem procura especificamente observar baleias, uma saída em que apenas sejam observados golfinhos possa deixar uma sensação de desilusão. No entanto, consideramos importante distinguir entre a expectativa legítima de observar baleias e uma garantia de que estas serão avistadas. A nossa comunicação procura precisamente explicar esta diferença antes da reserva e antes da atividade, uma vez que estamos perante animais selvagens cujo comportamento e localização não podemos controlar. Por esse motivo, não consideramos adequado apresentar a atividade como sendo exclusivamente de observação de baleias ou, inversamente, como uma atividade de observação de golfinhos em que ocasionalmente surgem baleias. O passeio é uma experiência de observação de cetáceos, com o objetivo de procurar tanto baleias como golfinhos, sendo que a procura de baleias é uma prioridade da nossa equipa. Lamentamos que a sua saída não tenha proporcionado o avistamento de baleias que esperava, mas esperamos que esta explicação ajude a compreender a natureza da atividade e a informação que é disponibilizada aos nossos clientes antes da realização do passeio. Fabulous time on the water looking for whales and our guides found us four different types of whales.
Wonderful family program. We saw three different species of dolphins swimming near us. There were so many, that the trip became memorable. The guide was fantastic, my daughter got sick and they were impeccable the whole time. The boat was top-notch, one of the large and rigid ones, not one of those rubber ones. I recommend it 200%...it's just a shame we didn't see any whales...
We saw tons of dolphins of various species and had a wonderful morning. Super nice colleagues. We love it!
We saw many whales and dolphins
Excellent trip. We watched the boat return from a trip and booked for the next day. We chose Water 4 Fun because we wanted a proper boat rather than a rubber dinghy, which seemed to have squashed and uncomfortable seating. The boat was immaculate, had the right safety equipment, and comfortable seating. The guide was a marine biologist, very knowledgeable, and and gave us plenty of information - he was fluent in English Portuguese and Spannish. We saw pilot whales and 4 species of dolphin. Highly recommend
The trip began with an introduction on safety and the life of cetaceans. The boat was comfortable and we did not feel the swaying. After about 20 minutes we encountered the first group of dolphins, which were followed by others and others... I have never seen so many in my life. The guide spoke of about 500 specimens in total. We were not lucky enough to see the larger cetaceans, but the experience was still really beautiful and a memory for a lifetime.

We were very lucky with the time but the guide William and Captain Pedro were sublime. A note of thanks also for the watchman of Monte Brasil!
