Tour guide Nicole spoke too fast and gave no ancient history of Venice. Tour was in English and Spanish. Make sure you have 2 euro cash for quick boat ride to cross canal. I would not recommend this tour as guide had no enthusiasm or helpful insights of Venice.

When we met our tour guide, she explained to us that we would be crossing seven bridges, going up and downstairs, and that this would be a very difficult tour for the two men in the group that were using walkers. Unfortunately, the tour was cancelled and she suggested that we contact you and request a refund for the tour that we were not able to take. It was never mentioned in the tour description that this is not an excursion for anyone with a little bit of a mobility problem. Again, I mentioned on the recommendation of your tour guide that it will not be a possible tour for us to take.

Very disappointing experience: the tour was in fact interrupted in half. I participated in the “Rialto and Jewish Ghetto” tour in Venice on April 3, 2026. Booked in Italian, it was played in three languages with over 30 people, resulting in chaotic and difficult to follow from the beginning. The guide appeared ill-prepared and unable to manage the group. After a long wait for the crossing from the pier of Santa Lucia by gondolona, in the Rialto area the guide, realizing that he had dispersed many participants, interrupted the tour: he withdrew the radio lines and stopped providing explanations. From that moment on, the visit turned into a race without content to meet the times. The guide himself admitted the "disaster." The supplier then denied the interruption of the tour and responded with disrespectful tones, going so far as to say "for 30 euros you can not expect too much". Civitatis offered a completely inadequate 20% refund. Negative experience in every respect.

Booked tour 1 hr prior, got on the wrong water bus and so I immediately messaged the tour operator 20 mins before tour and told them we would be 10 mins late. We arrived 7 mins late…tour guide refused to wait nor answer phone. Finally called the tour agency and asked where the tour was so we could catch up and they refused. Tour Agency told me to call Viator for refund…when I called Viator to request a refund, was told the Tour Agency refused my refund. Thank you for ruining our last day in Venice and Italy and leaving us with this crappy memory of greed and no grace for 1 adult and 3 teens. Additionally, once the guide begins the tour and is engaged in explaining to the group, it is not feasible for them to monitor phone communications, as their full attention must be dedicated to delivering the service. As a gesture of goodwill and understanding, we offered you the possibility to reschedule the tour for another date or to join any of our other tours; however, this option was declined. A very nice walking tour that gives you an excellent feel for Venice, both truly local and the major tourist sites. It’s an excellent way to start your Venice visit and will orientate and inform you for the rest of your stay.

The walking tour was pretty good but the mini cruise shone through its absence. However, we cross the channel with the traghetto with an extra payment of 2E (usual journey price)

With regard to the gondola experience, our guides always emphasise at the start of the tour that this is a short trip to cross the Grand Canal from one side to the other and that, as it is a form of public transport, there is a separate charge of €2 per person. Furthermore, it is also reiterated that it is not mandatory, but depends on what the whole group decides to do.
