An engaging and entertaining walking tour round some of Glasgow's historic areas and buildings with Ian our tour guide. It gave us a good overview of how the city grew and prospered and the main areas to explore in more depth.
Mixed feelings about this tour: the service was very good and Alison was a very interesting and pleasant guide... but we had the impression that we did not get the tour we had chosen. I had opted for this one because it was noted that the tour was narrated by "a troupe of actors" and many comments referred to an interactive, original, and humorous narration. However, we had a very high-quality but "classic" tour, with no acting or particular humor. Our guide was very competent, but the tour was focused almost exclusively on architecture and history. It was very interesting and informative; however, it was not what we had originally purchased. So, a little disappointed in the end, but good memories nonetheless! Thanks to Alison for her kindness and for knowing how to find shelter to escape the rain as much as possible!
Gordon was great and he maid me a queen for the day, it was wonderful!! He was very informative and very good since of humor!! I would highly recommend him!!

Marty our guide, a professional actor, was just outstanding, a true local in a kilt and with a broad Glaswegian accent. I loved his story telling and could feel his emotions when we touched on the dark side of the city’s past and present. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

Allison, the born & bread Glasgowian, provided a great two-hour tour around old Glasgow with a fascinating lesson on history and architecture. No funny actors on this tour, as listed in Tripadvisor’s description. Also, the listed meet-up spot is WRONG with the construction going on at King George Square. Just dumb LUCK that we spotted a tour guide in a dayglo yellow vest outside the construction barricades. Not Alison’s fault. TripAdvisor’s fault for not keeping up with the issues surrounding a tour. We were in Glasgow for the day, took an hour-long train ride to the Square and were starting to panic about missing a paid-for tour because we couldn’t find it. Our cell phones had very poor reception in the area and calling for assistance didn’t seem like a viable choice. Glad it worked out, in the end. Would recommend this tour about the history of the region.
Thank you for your great review we all appreciate that. The meeting point is difficult with all the work going on in the square. but we message everyone from 06:00 on the morning of the tour and again at 12:30. The problem is many US cell networks don't work in Europe. We also send an email but folks often don't read these. our best comms is via Whatsapp but many of our older American guests don't use that. It's just as well you had dumb luck or you'd have no luck at all
The walk was excellent,despite the rain. Full of insightful social and political history. Also gave a view of modern Glasgow and how it has evolved. Very enjoyable and well worth the money.
