Vilnius-Riga sightseeingtur bus

Beskrivelse

Great day spent with Matiss. An exceptional guide and driver. His knowledge and his personal touch made for a really enjoyable day.
On October 11, I scrolled to find any info from you..wondered why there was no update after confirmation. Found a place to issue my tickets and did so. On trip date, Oct 12, my friend and I stood in front of the Ministry looking for the van. I then tried to retrieve the tickets and they had disappeared. Only after I returned home did I see your cancellation. We had to scramble to get to Riga as we had nonrefundable hotel and airline tickets there. Not pleasant on a cold rainy day.
If you're planning to travel between Lithuania and Latvia, I can't recommend this tour enough. The Vilnius–Riga Sightseeing Tour Bus by Traveller Tours is not just a way to get from one country to another — it’s a full day of immersive experiences, charming towns, and fascinating history, all made even better by a fantastic guide. Our guide, Laura (pronounced Lowra), was truly amazing. She was knowledgeable, funny, and engaging, and really made the day special for everyone. Her passion for the region and easygoing style made the tour not only informative but genuinely fun. She was just great all around — we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. My personal fav stop was the Hill of Crosses, a site that’s hard to describe in words. It’s a surreal, moving place — thousands upon thousands of crosses left by pilgrims and visitors alike, each with its own story. It’s one of those places that really makes you stop and think. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip. Overall, this tour is a perfect way to travel from Vilnius to Riga. You skip the hassle of buses or trains and instead enjoy a full day of sightseeing, stories, and stunning locations. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to make the most of their travel between the Baltic capitals. It was well-organized, enriching, and a lot of fun — a definite highlight of my trip!
We organised a private tour from Vilnius to Riga, stopping at Trakai, Kaunas (museum for the blind) and Hill of Crosses. Camilla was a good guide. However, an email was sent on the day before the trip that we missed that would have allowed us to see more by starting the trip earlier. As it was, it was a good way to see Trakai, a beautiful picturesque town, Kaunas for the unique experience of the museum for the blind and the Xmas markets and the Hill of Crosses - a symbol of rebellion and resistance against the Russian empire. Separate reviews for the stops.
This trip was a great way to see the sights whilst travelling between cities! Originally I was just going to catch a bus, then came across this tour! Good room for luggage and small groups of 4-8 people with a fun friendly guide! Our guide stopped every hour either to sightsee, toilet break or have lunch! Good negotiation/discussion of time needed in each place and felt it was well organised!
The guide/driver Ruta was nice , but the tour could be better planned to include more time in Kaunas where we could have lunch by our own , instead of going to a determined restaurant in the middle of the road . Time at Hill Of Croces was unnecessary since it could be just a quick stop to take pictures , and instead , we could make a really visit to Rundāle and not being there just to give a look at the gardens 10 minutes before closing . With this , it could have more light time at the last stop , a really interesting monument at the forest near Riga .
It was very nice go from Vilnius to Riga with this tour. The road is almost all good and the places we stop are beautiful. The Guide Mike is a very nice guy and talk about history and other things with the group.
A great way to travel from Vilnius to Riga. Your guide Camille was knowledgeable and professional and told us relevant info about the sights in Kaunas, Hill of Crosses, Runsdale Castle and Salaspils Memorial on our transfer between the two capitals.
Kamile was our guide. She was late at pickup, leaving us 8 wondering if we're at the right place but I assume it's traffic. She was wonderful and bubbly throughout the entire day (which is very hard as she had to talk and drive at the same time). She explained stories very well. Her personal story of how her great grandparents were involved in the war was exceptionally moving, esp while we were standing in the "memorial grounds". This is the perfect way to travel between countries, while not wasting the day sitting in a train, learning abt history and visiting places you won't get to see without a tour/car. Bottle Water is always available. The van was very comfortable and a good size even for 3 people at the back. As they took out Trakai, we had more time at all the places we stopped at which was nice.
A 12 hour journey between Vilnius and Riga may not sound much fun. Particularly in a rather cramped minibus. But wait. For those who want to see something on the way, meet like-minded people and do something a bit different this is hard to beat. Yes, it is a guided tour. With a very enthusiastic guide who makes sure that we have all got to know each other before the day is out. First stop Kaunas to hear about the history of Lithuania and that town in particular. Next stop, the Hill of Crosses. One of this countries "must-see" sites. A restaurant stop at a deer farm - if you don't like deer, there are other options, but don't miss the apple pie. Once into Latvia, there is a stop at Rundales Palace to enjoy the gardens and then on to Riga but not before a stop at Salaspils concentration camp memorial for a reminder of Latvia's less pleasant past. Arriving at Riga, we departed as old friends and even got a bonus ride to our hotel. A great way to explore these countries. Hopefully it remains successful, but not too successful. The small scale is part of the charm
Hi, Thank you so much for the review! It does mean a lot and it is great to read that you liked the stops and made some new friends :) All the best wishes Marii
