This was a great tour. Our guide was clearly passionate about the artistry and history of the Vatican. Would absolutely do this again.
Given the summer crowds and heat, just being able to skip the line was worth the experience alone but we really appreciated our guide Rachel’s friendliness, professionalism and knowledge escorting us in to the Vatican Museum. And then of course seeing the Sistine Chapel and Basilica was awesome! Great overall experience!

Be patient if you arrive earlier than the 15 minute mark. Someone will show. The meet up point is in front of the hotel 98.

This tour is simply buy the tickets and meet at a point and they will take you into the Vatican museum. It worked fine. I'm not sure I would recommend the Vatican tour anymore. you go in to the museum and are forced to follow a line of tourists throughout the museum. You cannot get to the Sistine chapel unless you follow the line. It is overcrowded, hot, and very slow. You go in and out the same door and never see St.Peter's square. If you have any mobility issues this is not the tour for you. We ran out of time and energy and just drove past the basilica and the square. This is our third time at the Vatican I found this new process very tedious.

Easy to find "white umbrella" the tour staff were friendly.entry took about 10 minutes as there were MANY groups tours in the skips the line area. I recommend the 9am entry, as it was 95° that early in the morning.

Watch for scammers everywhere in Rome. A guy in a viator shirt tried to tell us we had missed our time and needed to buy tickets from him. Obviously the vatican is incredible, climb the cupola if you can.

The tour company messed up the tickets, so my kids went through security, but we were forced to wait outside in the hot sun for 10-15 minutes until they got things straightened out. The kids were scared, because the guards wouldn’t let them come back through to stand with us. Then once we finally all got inside, my ticket was still messed up and it took forever to get through the last security check.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and understand how stressful this was, especially with children. During periods of very high attendance, entry flows and security checkpoints may be temporarily slowed or blocked by the venue. Unfortunately when I booked I didn’t realize it was self guided. There is not much to review. The young women who assisted us to the entrance was quite nice and completed her task efficiently.
