Santiago was a knowledgeable and personable young man.. He was also sensitive to the fact that we were older and not quite as swift on our feet as someone in their 30's or 40's.
Well…..our guide was a very nice guy, but we knew as much about the sites and history as he did, which isn’t saying much. He told us that he didn’t do the historical tours that often. Can’t recommend this service, frankly a waste of money

Our Viator guide, Mauricio from Koyote Tours, exceeded our expectations! We debated a group tour over a pricier private tour, and decided the one-on-one connection on a private tour would be worth it. It was well worth it! The personal interaction with two of us and our guide Mauricio, gave us an opportunity to ask any questions about what we saw and get complete answers until we were satisfied. He made us feel comfortable, and we felt like we were on a walk with an old friend. Mauricio had knowledge about the Historic Centro Guadalajara area that must be unmatched by most any other guide! When questions strayed from the topic at hand, he still had answers and we were very happy to get to share in that knowledge with him. Mauricio was always willing to go in the direction of our interests in what we looked at and how long we wanted to stay at any particular point on our tour. His passion for the city, it's history, it's people and its notable people was very obvious to us. He gave us a better understanding of the history of Mexico from the ancient civilizations to the modern Guadalajara city we see today. We plan on being back to the city and we will definitely look Mauricio up again! As well as recommend him to our friends and family. We also want to definitely thank Viator for it's well vetted selection of guides and a smooth, comprehensive app that made selection, booking, and the actual tour an easy process in a large, busy city! This was such a comprehensive tour, you get to see churches, markets, frescos from Orozco. You do a lot of walking but have a great time. I totally recommend this tour. Thank you to Mauricio for making this Day fantastic!!!!
Our guide was very knowledgeable, especially regarding the history and architecture of Guadalajara. We did have some disappointments though. We did not realize that all of the buildings and museums would be closed because it was a Monday. We were unable to see any of the things in these parts of the tour and had to come back later for them on our own. We expected a 3 hour tour that included bottled water or soda/pop based on the website. It was about 1.5 hours and there was no water or soda. It was also difficult to find bathrooms because all of the buildings were closed. All in all, I am still glad we went, but I would not have scheduled on a Monday had I known this.
