Unseen Hoi An Ancient Town - Mad & Kultur Walking Tour

Hong was such a great tour guide! If you are looking for an authentic food tour that makes you feel like a local - this is the tour for you! We got to stop by the local stores and see how each ingredient is made. Then, we tasted how they all came together! Plenty to see and we met so many locals along the way. It was the perfect way to get acquainted with the city when we first arrived.

We did this tour last year with Pinky and it was excellent. So this year we came back Hoian, Vietnam and we would to do it again with her. She is so friendly, enthusiastic with what she's doing and she really cares about us. She showed us the real Hoian and without her we can not do it by ourself. We highly recommend this tour for who travel to Hoian.

This is not only a food tour but an full immersion into local life. On top of that, Pinky is funny, knowledgeable and speaks great English. Pinky is just a great guide that explains and tells about local and national culture, about the food we get to eat and how it’s made and really brings us to unique places in Hoi An. She is really passionate and funny local guide and really loves to tell us about her people, food and culture. The food we ate just great and we tried things that we maybe normally wouldn’t try because we simply don’t know about it. If you are in Hoi An, this tour is a must do!

The best tour I did in Vietnam! Right from meeting Pinky who met me at the meeting spot and was very kind and friendly. I took the tour with Pinky and walking around with her was like walking with a friend. I loved all the local factories and artisans we met. Everyone was so kind and generous. The food tour after that was equally good and she adjusted it according to my preferences. Pinky made my day in Vietnam extra special and continued to hang with me in Old Town after our tour was over. If you are in Hoi An, I would highly recommend doing this tour!

You'll spend a few hours with Pinky learning about Vietnamese culture and history, exploring Hoi An and eating some of the most delicious food Hoi An has to offer. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who will be in Hoi An. Our tour was done by Hong and she was the best companions for our morning. Hong is very knowledgeable about local customs and history and answered all our questions with expertise. The tour stops at some local businesses that have been operating for decades and that we never would have found on our own. And the food was incredible. But the one thing that stood out most was the incredible hospitality from the guide. She looked out for each of our personal needs and got to know us personally so she could cater to us and make the experience as special as possible. We will always remember Hong, and the time we spent with her with great fondness. Thank you so much!

Can’t say enough about our wonderful morning Unseen Hoi An tour. We had a great experience. Our guide was so good! Hong (aka Pinky) was informative, engaging and very attentive through out our tour. By the end of the morning we felt we had made a new friend. Our tour started with a bang when Hong introduced us to a local man in his home who making more than 150kg of Cao Lau noodles every day. He is working very hard every single day to keep the business of his family. Then we visited a lovely couple who making organic bean sprouts to sell it in Hoi An markets. They welcomed Hong like a daughter and the experience of meeting these local people set the tone for our great morning. The tour encompasses much more than Hoi An ancient town and local cuisine and by the end of the morning we felt we had truly experienced the life of a local. We highly recommend this tour!!!

I booked this tour as a solo traveller, and it was great! Aside from getting to try local food, I was also able to learn about the locals. To start the tour - we took a walk to visit a Cao lau noodles maker and a bean sprouts grower - both visits were very insightful, and it just made me appreciate Cao Lau more. After that, we were off to the market to try the different Vietnamese dishes! This was my favorite part! And then we visited the oldest water well from Cham people. I truly enjoyed the morning with Pinky! She is very sweet and knowledgeable! She is also very thoughtful, and are willing to go beyond! Definitely recommended!!
