Booked this excursion before we got on the Princess Cruise ship. Princess posted we would dock at 7:00AM. The night before our excursion Princess told us we would dock at 9:AM! Our tour started at 8. No internet while we were on ship. Went to guest services and called Viator to let them know so they could contact vendor. Vendor did not contact us back until after 1:20PM next day and had the nerve to say we didn’t show! We were there just couldn’t get off ship. They don’t want to refund our money either. This is wrong on so many levels. Don’t book your shore excursions through Viator.
We truly regret the inconvenience you experienced and understand how frustrating changes in cruise schedules can be. However, as previously explained, we were already aware of the delay of the Princess ship, and for that reason our driver had specific instructions to wait for your arrival until passengers were able to disembark. Our driver remained at the meeting point for more than 35 minutes, together with other guests from the same ship, waiting for your party. Unfortunately, after that waiting period, we were unable to continue delaying the tour further out of consideration for the other guests and the scheduled operation. We sincerely appreciate your feedback and are sorry that this situation affected your experience
These ziplines were amazing and fun! Emerson and Wagner were our primary zip line guides with 3 other supporting members to complete our experience! This experience requires that you be able navigate rocky and hilly trails to access the zip line areas. The equipment appeared to be in good working order and safety was stressed along the way. The waterfalls were amazing and we can only envision what it would be like during the rainy season. The trip from the caldera port was well organized and we were picked up by a taxi in the shuttle pickup and drop off area of the port.

Four men did the zip tour just for the three of us. It was super so family and personal. I can only recommend it. They say it's nicer in the morning, I'm sure it has more people. We were in the afternoon, it was very warm, but only the three of us were all the more personal.

It was a great experience! We were with an open flatbed truck over a bumpy path to the start of the ziplines. We were accompanied by warm, friendly, cheerful instructors who explained everything well. We felt safe and secure. We hovered over 18 ziplines (of which 1 was with abseiling). It had nothing to do with mass tourism at all but was very individual, in small groups and in solitary nature. On the way we saw & heard howler monkeys. We had the opportunity to go swimming under a waterfall during a break. This tour is really 100% recommended!

Beware! Viator will show this tour as an option if you search “La Fortuna,” despite the fact that this is 3+ hours away. I booked this thinking it was near La Fortuna, since that is how it was shown to me on Viator. It was only when I was planning my drive the night before that I realized it is a 3+ hour drive away. I messaged the tour operator asking for help, and they were kind enough to offer to rebook me to another day. However, this location is nowhere near where I plan to travel in Costa Rica so that is not helpful at all. After several messages, it is clear that the tour operator plans to keep my payment despite the fact that I ended up unable to participate due to the very misleading way this was shown as a La Fortuna option. Don’t make the same mistake I did!

We always try to assist our guests and offered the possibility to reschedule the visit for another available date. Many of our visitors travel several hours to experience the waterfalls and zipline and we are proud that it is often described as one of the highlights of their trip to Costa Rica. This is an underrated experience in my opinion. 18 zip lines through waterfalls and canyons is a thrill worth exploring. Give them a try; it’s definitely worth the drive and the time.

It takes awhile to get there and is a windy trip to the place then you are 4x4 to the first line so be prepared for a bumpy windy trip to start. But it is all worth it!! The views are spectacular and the guides are fabulous! Definitely recommend!
