Under denne gåtur besøger du templet i selskab med vores kyndige guide. Vi vil også gå gennem de omkringliggende områder, hvor du kan se Mylapore i alt dets overfyldte kaos. Juvelererne, silkehandlerne, frugt- og grøntsagssælgerne og blomsterhandlerne i basarerne danner en farverig kulisse til templet. Gåturen fører os gennem små gader med huse i gammel stil, gennem silkebutikker, butikker, der sælger musik og religiøse memorablia, 'kutcheri' auditorier osv. Besøg Kapaleeshwara-templet, Santhome-kirken, og gå gennem Mylapores bybaner under denne 3-timers tur. Turen er for det meste til fods med en kort strækning i en auto-rickshaw (lokal tuk-tuk), der er arrangeret og inkluderet i turen, og den afsluttes med sydindiske forfriskninger.

Great tour of Mylapore with a friendly and knowledgeable guide! I would not have understood most of what I was seeing in the temple without him, and the coffee and snacks we got at a local spot were a good chance to talk and for me to ask questions about local life. Great value for the cost!

We booked this tour for our first day in India to find out more about history, culture and religion. Rajesh met us on time and gave us an excellent tour of the Mylapore area. He was very knowledgeable about all of the sights we visited and we learnt a lot from him, especially about Hinduism. He took us to a cafe for delicious coffee and snacks and this was also a great opportunity to chat to him and he was very happy to answer all of our questions. Following the tour Rajesh was also really helpful in organising a driver for us to visit Mahibalipuram and go on to our next stop in Pondicherry at a very reasonable price.
