Illuminating tour by a very informed guide who, as someone who’d grown up there, could give us his personal perspective. Chose some great areas to visit and it was evident that he was friends with many we visited. Unlike slums we have visited with charities in South East Asia, here everyone was economically productive and very hard at work. Both fascinating and exhausting in the heat. Well worth it though.

A truly impressive and special experience in Mumbai! Chetan was an outstanding guide – very friendly, likable, and his English was truly excellent. He was able to explain everything to us clearly and patiently answered every one of our questions. We were particularly impressed by how much one actually does not know about life in the slums. Chetan showed us many backgrounds and connections that one would otherwise never learn about as a tourist. The tour was therefore not only interesting, but also changed many of our perceptions and prejudices. You get a very authentic insight into the everyday life, work, community, and lives of the people. Chetan made the tour very respectful and informative. Highly recommended! If you really want to get to know Mumbai and learn more about life away from the typical tourist spots, you should definitely take this tour – and preferably with Chetan.

Amazing, such an interesting tour lasting all of 3 hours, which flew by. Bipin was a fantastic guide who was both knowledgeable and understanding, and it brought us such a new perspective on Mumbai and even India as a whole. I would recommend this tour as unmissable for any tourists looking to truly see and better understand Indian life and society. The lunch was also delicious and such a beautiful experience.

We had a memorable and deeply moving experience exploring Dharavi slum area with Sabina - she is an excellent guide. She helped us understand its history, the culture and spirit of the people, and their daily life. Her knowledge is exceptional and because she is a local to the area, she knew craftspeople, shopkeepers and individuals that we never would have had a chance to meet. Sabina was sharing with us a neighbourhood that she knows and loves - not reciting facts from a guidebook. Having Sabina as our guide made the tour feel authentic, personal and very special. Just got back from a highly educational and somewhat confronting tour with Bipin, who was a knowledgeable and personable guide. The meeting point was communicated well and easy to find.
