This was a cool experience! A parking recommendation would have been helpful. I found free parking for 2 hours but then I had to move my car and ended up paying $32 in the parking garage which interrupted our outdoor escape room experience. The challenge really put our sleuthing minds to work and it was just what my daughter and I needed to celebrate her 20th birthday. Stay in the shade and use the crosswalks and allow for enough time to explore within the experience. Bring water and where a Fanny pack to keep your hands free! Wear shoes and cute outfits for all the breathtaking gardens and historical architecture. Don’t forget to visit William in the Free Library, true pleasure. The quaint Peddler’s Coffee Shop was welcoming and supportive of the process. Families with children can bring an extra set of clothes because of the refreshing splash pad at Sister’s Cafe. Mr. Frostee was just what we needed while we sat under the shade to crack the code! The process was seamless and engaging with possible hints just before we got frustrated. Great job to the masterminds!!! Being an art teacher, it was awesome to include Calder and Moore and other educational components. Thank you for a day well spent making memories!
We had a great time exploring Logan Square! I have driven past/through this area my whole life but have never taken the time to walk through the various parks. The gardens were beautiful. Make sure you pick a day that's not too hot and that you give yourself 3 hours (so you have time to stop for a drink too!) Would not recommend having more than 6 people.
This outdoor escape game was so great! Loved walking around Philly to find clues. We did the casual play setting and it was more challenging than I expected. Lots of great puzzles and clues! My husband and I live in Philly so it was also really nice to get out and play in our city in a way we had not before. My favorite part was the postcard word puzzle using a sculpture downtown. I have NEVER noticed that sculpture before, and we have lived here for 17 years! It was a great surprise. Plus I got to explore other landmarks I am familiar with in a whole new way. I highly recommend playing if you are from Philly, or if you are visiting and just want a cool way to get out and around on foot downtown!
We did this as part of a team offsite and everyone had a great time. It wasn’t overly difficult but provided enough of a challenge that it took us a few hours to complete. The web app guides you smoothly through the experience and offers helpful hints when you get stuck. Instead of finishing at Federal Donuts, we wrapped up at Victory Brewing to enjoy the AC (middle of August is hot :) ), drinks, and food. Highly recommended, even for locals, since the challenge makes you stop and notice places you probably drive past and take for granted.
Our family loved this game! We have done a lot of escape room type games (both at a location and from a box), and this did not disappoint. We loved getting to walk around Philly solving puzzles. We had so much fun and saw a part of the city that we had not spent a lot of time in previously. We needed to use some hints but not a ton so the difficulty level felt just about right. I recommended it to my friends!
I thought our adventure in Philadelphia was very good. Good storyline, good material (sealed envelopes), good variety of different types of puzzles, Good walking distance (1.5-2 miles), excellent real-world clues. I'm very familiar with this area, but I still hadn't taken the time to explore some of these spots in detail. Every location (e.g. park, square, fountain, etc.) was available on Google Maps. The overall difficulty was harder than I expected, but I think that’s perfect, since you can use hints at any time after you get tired. The hints are done very well as to not spoil the solution, just help you out a little. We also appreciated being able to leave the area after a certain point. We planned to have dinner in a different area, so it worked out well.
It was a lot of fun!! We enjoyed the puzzles and learning new things about the city! We did the Logan Square, Philadelphia box.
This was a lot of fun! I've lived near and visited Philly a lot over the years, and with this game I got to learn more about so many places I've overlooked before! Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get a new perspective on their city!
My family and I loved the Philly Escapely. We had a great time and it was very well thought out. We look forward to trying another in a different city and hopefully if you do another one in Philly we would love to try it!
Got this as a Christmas gift for my husband and finally got to enjoy some great weather today! We had a blast walking around, the clues were great, felt like National Treasure. Hope they make more for our city, we'd definitely do more!
