The trip was fine and it was easy to get to the boat. I didn't understand the difference between this shared-ride boat and a private charter. There is a list of stops that they can go to, and, even if there's one closer to your place, you'll get dropped off where at one of the listed stops. For is this meant about 7 minutes extra walking, but that's nothing in Europe and especially nothing in Venice, where everything is a walk. Anyway, they kept their end of the bargain and got us there.
All good apart from walking all the way to the water taxi area and then finding I needed to go back to the water taxi desk to be "registered" and then go back to the boats. The boatman was amazing packing many cases into his boat in the "reverse" order so that they were in the correct order depending on drop off.
The counter for the water taxi is relatively easy to find. They gave you instruction clearly. And usually there’s a bit of wait. The taxi ride to Venice took longer than I expected. The taxi moved quickly on the water and can be rough from time to time. It was a hot day so getting stuck inside the ship wasn’t hot. The whole journey took longer than expected. But overall it’s a different experience for sure.
The service is so bad and the queue is so long: you will need to stand for more than 1 hrs since there are not enough boats to accommodate the high demand from tourists arriving at the airport. Just a joke for a city like Venice!!!!
Got to pier 7 at airport dock with confirmation number and all details needed and then made to go back inside after traveling 10 hours with family. Waste of time as they could have just verified paperwork with guy attendant at pier! Then we find out we’re sharing a small boat with six other people and their luggage! Ugh and 85 degrees. Not the package that was sold to me and want refund!!!
Horrible experience. Operator never showed up, was left stranded at the dock with my family for over an hour. Viator said “we regret to inform you that we are unable to issue a refund for this booking”. Sent repeated messages and got now response. Terrible service all around, avoid at all costs.
Our flight was delayed so we messaged the a rvice provider to ask what can we do and they didn't even bother to respond. No show at the area. Lost £158.
It definitely got us where we were going. But make sure you read the information about stoping at the desk 71 first. We missed it and walked all the way down to the docks and had to go back. Then because it’s not private, we had to wait about 30 minutes to gather more passengers. They packed us and everyone’s luggage in like sardines. Again, it was the cheaper option and got us to our stop which was the important thing.
Unique experience and trip highlight! Do yourself a favor, stay at a hotel with boat dock and book this motorboat transfer. It is a fantastic way to approach and enter the city (fast!). The last thing you want to do in Venice is walk bridges with suitcases especially if you don't know your way around yet. Easy walk from airport to port, good signage, friendly staff and by sharing the boat an economic way to still experience this kind of private transfer.
Very easy and organized. We had to wait 10 minutes and were on our way to the hotel, completely stress free.
