The perfect way to spend our first evening in Dublin! Mag was all smiles and warmth from greeting to goodbye…2 excellent musicians, interesting stories & many belly-laugh moments!

The perfect way to spend our first evening in Dublin! Mag was all smiles and warmth from greeting to goodbye…2 excellent musicians, interesting stories & many belly-laugh moments!
Very Nice, talkative, good musicians. But they played unusual instruments that you rarely see at an Irish pub and there was not enough actual music. And why Flanagans, waste of a 20 minute hike, not crawl, to a basement with no Irish atmosphere. Best to Start any stay in Temple Bar atmospheric area and upon completion, participants will continue the night there. Also, start time toooo early.
Absolutely great experience. Loved the opportunity to hear traditional Irish music and have it explained and played so well by the musicians. It also started early--6 pm, so that worked for us. Nice to have a guaranteed seat in a pub and not have to fight your way into a space at a random pub.
Debra and Steven were incredible! They sang songs and played tunes, they explained different Irish instruments and gave a detailed history of the music in Ireland while also making us laugh and having a great time! You spend about an hour at the first pub then walk to the next and spend about an hour there. I even got to try the drum for the last song of the night! Such a great way to spend a night in Dublin!
Mark and Larry are talented musicians and incredibly knowledgeable about Irish music, traditions, and and the oral history the music preserves.. They played music for us at two different locally-owned pubs. The pub crawl wasn’t exactly what we were expecting but we had a great time and got some good tips about more local places to visit.
The experience was fun. My complaint is that the title of the activity is somewhat deceiving. It is labeled as a pub crawl. Well we did travel as a group to 2 pubs…but the musicians traveled with us and the experience was the same. If 2 different sets of musicians were experienced I would give it a much higher rating.
Glad you enjoyed the tour. It is advertised as a tour of 2 pubs led by 2 professional musicians who perform songs and stories about traditional Irish music.
I could see that the rest of the room was really enjoying the banter between Booster and Niall, but I was feeling under the weather and found it too manic and disjointed really. There were lots of anecdotes nested inside other anecdotes meaning that it took ages to get to the actual music, but if you're in the mood (and can follow the quick-fire irish accents), I think you'd find it fun. NB it's a big group and you only go to two pubs, 10-15 mins walk apart, so less of a 'crawl' than you might expect.
It was very enjoyable. We only went to one other bar, and getting there was a cluster. There was no one leading where we were going and was a mess. Several people did not arrive until the second part had been well underway. Brenda and Steven were very entertaining and funny. I think my expectations were somewhat different than what we experienced. I would strongly recommend it.
Highly recommend! This was more about music and storytelling than the actual pubs. The musicians/guides were excellent. Funny and engaging storytellers and amazing musicians.
I was looking g forward to this tur and it didn't disappoint. We visited 3 pubs outside of the Temple Bar area to hear jigs and reels played on Irish pipes, flutes, tin whistles, fiddles, concertinas, accordions, guitars and banjos. The pubs were crowded but we made it into all three.
