This was honestly one of our favorite experiences in Udaipur!! Pacific Arts is located a little outside the busiest part of the Old City, but it is extremely easy to reach by tuk tuk — and, in our opinion, the location actually makes the experience much better. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, and the shop itself feels much more like being welcomed into a family home than walking into a tourist attraction. Pacific Arts is a family business, now in its fourth generation, and you can immediately feel how much love and pride they put into preserving the tradition of miniature painting. We met the brothers Naresh and Jitendra: one of them spent time showing us their collection, explaining the history and techniques behind the paintings, and telling us about their work supporting local artists and helping preserve this craft. What we particularly appreciated was that there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. They simply wanted us to understand the work, the skill involved and the value behind what they create. Then we did the miniature painting class with the other brother, and it was such a wonderful experience. I am not someone who draws or paints at all, so I genuinely thought I would struggle, but they guide you through the entire process from scratch in such a patient and approachable way that you end up creating something you are actually proud of. The class was incredibly calming and relaxing, but also gave us a completely different appreciation for how much precision, patience and skill goes into traditional miniature painting. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. They brought us bottled water, made us feel completely at home, took their time with us, and even helped us arrange a tuk tuk back afterwards. What made the experience particularly special was how genuine it felt. Nothing felt rushed, commercial or staged for tourists. It felt like spending a few hours with people who deeply care about their family tradition, their craft and the artists they work with — and who genuinely enjoy sharing it with visitors. We would absolutely recommend Pacific Arts to anyone visiting Udaipur. Even if you think you are “not artistic,” do the class. It is peaceful, interesting, personal and incredibly rewarding. We would happily come back again.

Very well-done lesson, very nice atmosphere, and lots of very beautiful miniatures to see after and before the lesson.

The experience was incredible, we were received superbly. We were able to discover the family workshop and practice for a few hours. We are returning with magnificent memories and our works. I highly recommend.

Amazing experience got to learn alot

This was an excellent opportunity to try a new art. I was guided step by step through the process and had great fun learning a new skill. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone interested in the creative process as it helps appreciate the great skill needed to produce the beautiful paintings.

Excellent time shared with Jeetu in learning fine painting, of which he is a 4th generation expert. Teaching, demonstration, concentration and action. For a very encouraging result... even if very far from the precision and finesse of all the works made with patience and passion by the family. A good way to realize how these paintings are a real art! Thank you Jeetu.

It was a very fun, hands-on experience with a master artist who gave gentle feedback. I learned a lot, it was the perfect amount of time I was able to ask questions. I highly recommend.
