The tour is chill, comfortable and brings you through a journey of artistic and heritage insights. If you’re looking for friendly vibes around Kampong Glam, Ronald (guide) definitely delivers and let you experience the hospitality of the area. We had a rest stop at Haji Lane where I was treated with a local snack and met some friendly people from BonBonMatcha and Faizal Caricatures! The matcha from shizuoka was delicious and better than some well known shops. Faizal was super friendly and great with his drawing! Highly recommend supporting local shops in the area! Istoria also collaborates with a few shops so we can get to enjoy some special discount while shopping for some unique things during the tour. There was sufficient rest stops and Ronald was very knowledgeable. The tour also includes snacks which makes the tour price very affordable, considering there was a Kunafa dessert at the end and the place is very aesthetic and air-conditioned. Highly recommend this tour!

Instructions to meet Guide, Ronald was straightforward and easy to find. We are a group of 2 Adults and 2 Children aged between 6-8. At first, there was a concern for my kids - not sure if they could understand. However, Ronald made the whole tour engaging for the kids and at the same time, delivering the information and history of the locations. The tour ended with a mini treasure hunt and a taste of a sweet dessert. Overall, my family enjoyed the short 2hrs tour and would recommend families with kids to experience it yourselves!

I joined a walking tour around Kampong Glam by Istora Collective and it was such a refreshing way to experience a familiar area. If you want to learn about the intricacies of Singapore’s social fabric, look for istoria. They are passionate and carefully curate their tours to be unique experiences, instead of just being a simple tour guide. The haji lane area is near many hotels, and has something for everyone - from very traditional shops/eats all the way to hipster vibes. It’s an every local favourite despite being a tourist area. Ronald has a knack for being really engaging and funny. Highly recommended!
