Ananuri fæstning er et slottkompleks på sekstenhundrede på floden Aragvi. Fæstningen står ved siden af den berømte georgiske militærvej, med udsigt over en stor Jinvali-sø. Dens høje tårnbygde stenvægge beskytter to kirker, en vagttårn og et reservoir. Hovedkorsfacaden er smukt udskåret med dyr, blomster og keltiske stilmønstre.

Næste stop på vejen er Gudauri, en bemærkelsesværdig skisportssted i Georgien. Anlægget ligger i en højde af 7217 fod (2200 meter) over havets overflade. Den første nedre liftstation ligger på 6528 fod (1.990 meter) over havets overflade, og den sidste eller øverste er stationen på 3.306 meter kaldet topmødet Sadzele. Anlægget byder på skimuligheder af høj kvalitet. Skisæsonen varer fra december til april.
Rusland-Georgien-venskabsmonumentet eller Georgievsk-monumentet er et monument bygget i 1983 for at fejre det halvtredsårige af Georgievsk-traktaten og det igangværende venskab mellem Sovjet-Georgien og Sovjet-Rusland. Fantastisk udsigt!

På en højde på 7119 meter (2.170 meter) blev det tolvte eller det trettende århundredes monument opført på Mkinvarcveris sydlige skråninger. Gergeti Trinity Church er et vigtigt tempel, bemærkelsesværdigt for sin smukke natur. Gergeti Trinity Church er indstillet på en bakke lige under den hvide massiv af Mount Kazbek, der sidder på 5.033 meter. Bygget for seks hundrede år siden, har stenene forfulgt gentagne blizzards, regn og invasion at stå som et stolt symbol på georgisk modstandsdygtighed i modgang af modgang. Det er den tredje højeste top i Georgien (efter Mount Shkhara og Janga) og det syvende højeste topmøde i Kaukasus-bjergene. Kazbek er også det næsthøjeste vulkanske topmøde i Kaukasus, efter Mount Elbrus. Topmødet ligger direkte vest for byen Stepantsminda og er det mest fremtrædende geografiske område i området. Mount Kazbek er den højeste top i østlige georgien.
På vej tilbage til Tbilisi stopper vi på en af restauranterne i Pasanauri landsbyen. Dette sted betragtes som fødestedet for georgiske dumplings - Khinkali. Her kan du også prøve frisk flodfisk, lam og meget mere.

This tour was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, everything was flawlessly organized and thoughtfully executed. My guide, Gio, was outstanding – incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about his country. He shared not only historical facts, but also cultural context and personal insights that gave real depth to the experience. It was a true pleasure to spend the day in his company. Equally impressive was driver, Pancho. He drove with great care and confidence, even on challenging mountain roads, and was always courteous, and attentive. His calm presence added a lot to the overall comfort of the day. The tour followed the itinerary exactly as promised, and every stop was both visually stunning and culturally enriching. I felt I gained a genuine overview of the region. This was far more than just sightseeing – it was an experience full of meaning and discovery. The guide was excellent and all the info she gave about this and that made it a good tour. Hence, even tough the driving distance was significant we still had fun. The mountains were of course also very interesting to see.

I had an amazing day with Khatuna from friendly.ge exploring the Kazbegi area. She picked me up from my airbnb in a super comfy car and drove us safely to all the stunning places, telling great and fun stories. We had a wonderful trip with our driver Khatuna who was an excellent, safe driver who went out of her way to make this an incredibly memorable experience. I took a private tour to Kazbegi in August 2023. Aleksi was a great guide -- knowledgeable, thoughtful, and very flexible and accommodating. We were able to tack on a few additional sites I was interested in and he didn't charge me extra. Communication was very smooth. Thanks so much, Aleksi!

What a breathtaking tour! We went in March when the mountains are still snowy and the view was everything. Out guide, Aleksi, was also great, told us many things about the mountains, Georgian culture and more. He was very helpful and flexible with accommodating all our requests. We can only recommend this tour if you love the mountains and want a full day of eyecandy :)

We've had a wonderful day with Giorgi. It was both full of natural wonders and historical adventure. Through the entire trip we discussed architecture, Georgia's blockbuster history and unique culture and language. From ancient time through Golden era to the sorrow times of strife, Russian Imperial rule, being a part of USSR and back to independence, not historical stone was left unturned. It was accompanied by interesting anecdotes and spectacular views from the car windows. Giorgi was also accommodating when we wanted to take pictures outside of the standard itinerary. I think out of everything I've taken as a tour in Georgia, that was the most interesting one. I'd like to mention that he speaks both English and exceptionally fluent Russian so we were switching back-and-forth as required to understand each other. Keep it awesome, folks!
