Oplev groft vulkansk terræn, iskapper / gletschere og ubrede floder. Thórsmörk, Thunder Gods Thor, ligger blandt tre mousserende iskapper Mýrdalsjökull, Tindfjallajökull og Eyjafjallajökull. Seværdigheder omfatter Gígjökull, hvor kraftige glaciale oversvømmelser undslapede i løbet af Eyjafjallajökull 2010-udbruddet. Vores lokale guider vil levende fortælle dig meget om denne udbrud, herunder historier, som kun lokalbefolkningen kender til.

Þórsmörk ligger mellem tre gletsjere og vulkaner, Eyjafjallajokull (den der gik i udbrud i 2010), Tindfjallajökull og Myrdalsjökull. På vores vej krydser vi gletsjerfloder, stopper ved de mest interessante steder, herunder Gijokull-gletsjeren - istungen på Eyjafjallajokull-vulkanen, og går korte gåture rundt. Inde i Þórsmörk er der forskellige vandremuligheder afhængigt af dine ønsker. På vores vej til Þórsmörk stopper vi også kløfterne som Stakkholtsgjá og endda ved Nauthúsagil, en lille smuk kløft.

We joined the Þórsmörk Hiking Day Tour with our guide, Valdi. Besides our family, only two other guests were on the tour, making it feel very personal. Valdi shared fascinating stories about Iceland as he expertly drove through rivers and rugged terrain. The hike itself was incredible, taking us to stunning viewpoints and a hidden canyon that felt like a secret corner of Iceland. This was our favorite days of the trip.
This was absolutely fabulous! Our guide, Jon Gisli, was wonderful. We took our college grad son and the super jeep tour was the highlight.
Fantastic tour!! Guide was amazing, and Thorsmork was simply breathtaking. Don’t miss the hike up to valahukur!

This was an absolutely amazing tour. Odie drove us through rivers to places we would never have seen otherwise. We hiked to breathtaking viewpoints and stunning scenery, as well as fascinating caves. Along the way, he also provided interesting geological information and anecdotes. I highly recommend this tour. Definitely 5 stars!
It was an experience and Simeon was a nice guide. There were ten of us. You're really fine in the truck. That we wanted a lunch was not quite right but that could still be arranged and paid for on the spot. We drove through rough terrain. made several stops. Walked a long way up, walked through a gorge with a beautiful cave with waterfall as a reward. I found this trip a valuable addition to our holiday. For dessert we also drove a bit on the beach.
This was a fantastic trip with our guide Carlos. Not only did he choose excellent hikes but also he explained all the geological features around us , including all the rocks we found on the trail and to top it off he taught us some Icelandic. Highy recommended!
Our Thorsmork Super Jeep tour was a highlight of our trip. Carlos was a great guide. We loved the different stops and the opportunity to hike and explore such beautiful and varied terrain. Highly reccommend!
We were traveling with Carlos in the SuperJeep, well, more like SuperBus (Mercedes Sprinter on steroids🙃). Contrary to expectations, the weather was incredibly good. Plenty of sunshine with dramatic clouds. Perfect for photos. Carlos had a lot of information for us, and we visited various canyons and gorges that we would not have been able to reach with our rental car, even though it was a 4x4. The highlight was clearly the base camp Langidalur. We took a short hike to Valahnjukur. 30 minutes steep uphill, and you are rewarded with a sensational view of two glaciers and the beautiful valley with the Föuss Krossá flowing out. To conclude, we drove through the dunes of the black sand beach with the Westman Islands in view. I was skeptical since I do not like group trips, but this one allowed for freedom and provided insights that I would not have been able to reach otherwise. Thank you, Carlos! That was a day for the photo album.

Whether hiking up mountains or through canyons, crossing rivers, or facing difficult weather conditions, we always felt completely safe and in capable hands. The organization was flawless. Harpa coordinated the entire experience perfectly, ensuring that every detail was handled smoothly and professionally. I highly recommend Midgard Adventure to anyone looking for authentic Icelandic experiences led by knowledgeable local experts.
