En unik og bagvedliggende mulighed for at genforene og genforene med din kultur, rødder og blodlinje. Du vil modtage et traditionelt afrikansk navn, og nyde en landsby liv såsom ler keramik fremstilling, og i en traditionel kulturelle forestillinger, der vil blive vist for at byde dig velkommen ind i samfundet ved. Denne oplevelse er udelukkende forbeholdt efterkommere, da det er en hellig pilgrimsrejse med fokus på helbredelse og genforbindelse. Ikke-afstammede kan kun deltage, hvis de er ægtefælle eller et sort familiemedlem til en deltager. Det er en energi opløftende rejse, der giver dig mulighed for at være vidne til, hvordan afrikanere engang levede som konger og dronninger i deres hjemlande, før de blev stjålet til Cape Coast dungeons og bragt væk til den "nye verden". Vi anbefaler, at du tager lidt kontanter med dig, da du måske vil købe nogle af de smukke afrikanske perler som gaver hjem, og også en lille donation til at støtte og opløfte, hvad de gør! Bære hvid, som det er en farve af fejringen af nyt liv eller konformable af dit valg er fint.

8:00 afgår fra Accra Hotel/Residence til landsbyen i et køretøj med aircondition. Ankom omkring kl. 10. Vi vil først ringe til høvdingene og de traditionelle ledere af samfundet, hvor vi vil blive budt velkommen med trommespil og dans og givet traditionelle afrikanske navne.
Vi kører derefter til den betagende Lake Volta og nyder en fantastisk frokost på en restaurant ved søen. Lake Volta er den største menneskeskabte søer i Afrika og den næststørste i verden.
Shai-bakker er det tætteste National Game Park-reservat i Accra, hvor vi måske kan se nogle bavianer, når vi kører langs. Vi kan komme forbi for at tage nogle muligheder for at tage et foto og fortsætte vores tur tilbage til Accra

Our tour guide Toufic was amazing. He was knowledgeable about the history of Ghana, the culture, and the community called Torgome. Where our Naming ceremony was held, with the tribe, Ewes located in the Volta Region knew Toufic well. Toufic called ahead to inform the tribe of our arrival time which made the welcome of our presence so exciting. Lastly, Toufic took us to the Volta lake, explaining it was the 2nd largest man made lake which was very beautiful and to enjoy lunch at the amazing Restaurant called Afrikiko, put the cherry on top of everything. Overall, an amazing experience and great atmosphere. We look forward to returning soon and hope our tour guide will again be with Toufic. Happy 50th birthday to ME! Toufic is the best tour guide that Ghana has to offer. Not only does he have an amazing personality but his astute observations help you to better understand the culture. It was the highlight of my trip to have the naming ceremony after visiting Slave River and Elmina Castle. The entire community are so welcoming upon your arrival. Please be prepared to give a gift to the Chief after the ceremony. I didn’t know what give before getting on my flight so I gave some cedis. Lunch was great and the view of Lake Volta was stunning. I’d recommend this to any descendant looking to learn about the traditions of your ancestors. It truly was a highlight for my trip. Request Toufic after you book.

From the moment our guide, Kobe, picked us up, we felt like family. His energy was like we knew each other since birth and he spoke to us from a place of love and protection. He is very knowledgeable about our past and present while remaining hopeful for what the future brings to Ghana. When we arrived in the Volta Region, the children greeted us like little cousins who haven't seen us in so long! The elders embraced us with a true "welcome back home, we miss you" energy. We walked through the village and greeted our neighbors. Walked to the clear river and took in the beauty of the area. Then walked back to dance and laugh and hug our people. The naming ritual was spiritual and authentic to the Region. The names chosen by the elders fit each of us PERFECTLY!!! The blessings received were given in abundance and I am forever grateful for this experience.
