Don’t do it. We waited at the pick up that was texted to us. No one showed up. We had to chase them down for 30 minutes and then no apology. They had the nerve to tell us that we went to the wrong place, even though everybody was at that same location, which is exactly where they texted us to go.
Tea Around Town Atlanta gets a hard pass from me. The bus was supposed to leave at noon. At 12:40 PM, there was STILL no bus. I planned this as part of my granddaughter’s birthday weekend, and their lack of professionalism completely threw off our schedule. I flew from out of town JUST to do this with my granddaughter who turned 15. She was so excited. Imagine her disappointment! Being late is one thing. Being 40 minutes late with poor communication is unacceptable. Thankfully, I booked through Viator and should receive a refund. Time is the one thing people can never get back. Companies that don’t respect their customers’ time don’t deserve their customers’ money. Sheesshhhh. Do better, Tea Around Town Atlanta.
We originally was taking the noon bus, however the time kept changing and finally boarded at 3pm. It was supposed to be a 90 minute tour, and ended up being 60. According to the tour guide on the bus, the mic was broken. That was a bummer thus as participants we started naming off landmarks and it really seemed like the tour guide didn't even know the rest of the landmarks. The food was good and some of the teas were good. One of the folks in our group said they were supposed to go yesterday but at the last minute Tea Around Town just canceled. Im hearing the same feedback for the Tea Around Town in Chicago.
The bus was one hour late. The PA system was broken-no narration. Did not receive all food items listed. Do not waste your money! Good concept terrible service.
I visited on 4/26 to celebrate my aunt’s 75th birthday with a large group, including several guests who traveled from out of town specifically for this experience. Unfortunately, what should have been a special occasion was overshadowed by how poorly accessibility was handled. My 1-star review is based on the completely unacceptable “accommodations” provided for my cousin, who uses a wheelchair—and even more so, the staff’s response. Her mother contacted the company multiple times in advance to ensure proper arrangements could be made. However, upon arrival, the staff had no knowledge of her needs and told us, “they don’t tell us nothing, we just show up.” That alone was concerning. While all other guest tables were prepared, the designated accessible area—located on the lower level of the bus—was not set up at all. My cousin was separated from the rest of our group, which was both isolating and should have been communicated ahead of our arrival. As staff attempted to resolve the situation, one employee made an incredibly offensive comment: “You want me to throw her across my back? We need to leave.” This was not only unprofessional but deeply disrespectful—especially given the nature of the situation and the fact that our group spent over $1,500. When the table was finally set, it was in a visibly dirty and neglected area, further reinforcing the lack of care given to accessibility. After the tour, we expressed our concerns again. Shockingly, the same staff member responded by laughing. At that point, it was clear this was not just a lack of preparation, but a serious failure in professionalism and basic respect. This experience was unacceptable. I will be filing a formal complaint and strongly urge others—especially those with accessibility needs—to proceed with caution.
No alcohol, however overall great atmosphere and the hosts are so delightful and welcoming. I would reduce the price since it’s no alcohol included. Also, since a lot of tea being served, please have the bathroom in customer service order.
I would’ve loved to have the chance to have had this experience but…. I DON’T ENJOY EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE FOR A SIMPLE QUESTION OR TWO THAT A LIVE PERSON COULD ANSWER IN 30 SECONDS IF THERE WERE A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL AND SPEAK TO HUMAN BEING AND NOT SOME BULL CRAP ANSWERING MACHINE
I booked a birthday tea around town with 10 guests, and the tour was canceled because a bus broke down. I was promised a refund and rescheduled tickets, but a month later, I have not received either. There isn't a live person to talk to, you are told to leave an email message, and a month later, no one has responded. I wouldn't be surprised if they cease to exist within the next year, because of the horrible service.
The bus showed up 30 minutes late and we weren’t notified until the original pickup time. Once we got on, we went to the top floor and everything was pre-set for us. The food selection was very good. The tea samples are very small. You never get a full glass of tea. But the selections are good. The entire experience was only an hour. I thought it was going be longer. For me, it was a one and done experience.
DO NOT pay for this “experience” in Atlanta!! There was So Much wrong with it from start to finish. We planned this for my MIL’s 80th bday and was pleased it was “wheelchair accessible.” It IS NOT! The only seating is in the upstairs of the bus only accessible by the stairs. Bus was 40 min late to pick us up and the 1.5hr “experience” lasted 47 min. The “three fine teas” were a mint tea and 2 lemonades. “Fresh scones” were advertised. Nothing on the table was fresh. All prepackaged desserts and some inedible sandwiches. Everyone on the bus was shocked. A total bait and switch and not worth the $90 price tag!! It’s a great idea…just Very Poor execution!!
