Vi begynder vores rejse med en smag af chorreadas, en traditionel Costa Rican corn "poured" tortilla serveret frisk fra en gade sælger. Det er den perfekte introduktion til smagen af regionen.
Vores næste stop indeholder den ikoniske caldosa, en unik blanding af knusende majs chips toppet med Costa Rican ceviche. Denne klassiske gade ret er et must-prøve!
Tag ind i Jacó's skønhed, mens vi spadserer langs stranden og beundrer de levende vægmalerier og offentlig kunst i området. Denne stop giver os mulighed for at absorbere det naturlige og kulturelle landskab.
Om torsdagen besøger vi det lokale landbrugsmarked, hvor du kan udforske friske produkter, håndværksvarer og den livlige atmosfære i Jacó's samfundsliv.
Efter turen vil vi stoppe på en anden leverandør for at nyde en chiliguaro - en brændende Costa Rican shot lavet med lokal moonshine, chili og Tabasco.
Slap af på en charmerende, lokalt ejet strandrestaurant. Her vil vi nyde forfriskende drikkevarer og skaldyr retter lavet med den friskeste lokale fangst.
For dem, der ikke kan få nok af denne modige Costa Rican drik, vil vi gøre et andet stop for en anden twist på chiliguaro.
På en favorit lokal bar, vil vi nyde en klassisk Michelada - en forfriskende øl-baseret drik - og nyde en fyldig chifrijo, en smagfuld blanding af chicharrones (krydsende svinekød) og frijoles (bønner).
Vi afslutter på en sød note med et besøg hos en elsket dessert sælger for Churchill, en Costa Rican isbehandling med lag af kondenseret mælk, barberet is og frugt toppings.
Gennem hele turen vil jeg dele indsigt i Jacos geografi, historie, kultur og kunst, samt personlige anekdoter og historier om byen. Langs ruten vil jeg fremhæve offentlig kunst, vigtige bygninger, autentiske restauranter og de bedste gavebutikker til unikke, lokalt fremstillede souvenirs.

Great tour to good food spots I probably wouldn’t have gone on my own. It inadvertently ended up being a private tour, and Josue was great at telling me not only more about Jack but Costa Rica in general. Despite it being just the two of us, I had a great time and learned a lot. Would recommend for solo travelers and groups alike.

We had a wonderful time on the Costa Rica food tour with Josue. He went above and beyond with showing us some of the best food spots in Jaco but also with being extremely knowledgeable about the culture, history, animals, and any questions we had about the country in general. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting town. The only regrettable part was that we did this tour on our last day and he gave so many local food recommendations that we will have to save for next trip!

Let me start off by saying my tour guide Josue was the best. He was very pleasant, funny and knowledgable. He convinced me to drink beer which I hate! He was delightful and easy to talk to. He told me about the many murals that are painted around town including the one of the direct descendant of Pastor Diaz. The tour itself is ideal especially if you're open to trying new foods. I had caldosas at Picarita's, patacones, which are DELICIOUS (can't remember the name of the place) and beer randon at Amudio's and a Winston Churchill! This is a walking tour so be advised if you have any conditions.

I had a really great time on the Jacó Food Tour with Josue. He was on time, super knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. You can tell he knows the area really well, and I learned a lot about Jacó while trying some really good local food. I liked that it wasn’t just about the food, it was also a walking tour around downtown. He pointed out different places around town, shared local recommendations, and we even stopped in a souvenir shop, which was a nice little addition. We also ended the tour with dessert, which I wasn’t expecting and thought was a fun surprise. The whole experience felt like a great value for the price. There was plenty of food, and I left feeling like I got to experience much more of Jacó than I would have if I had explored on my own. I was traveling solo from the U.S. and I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Josue was friendly, laid-back, professional, and made the tour feel really easy and enjoyable.
