Tanah Lot betyder "Land [i] Havet" på det balinesiske sprog. Beliggende i Tabanan, omkring 20 kilometer (12 mi) fra Denpasar, ligger templet på en stor offshore-klippe, der er blevet formet kontinuerligt gennem årene af havvande. Tanah Lot-templet blev bygget og har været en del af balinesisk mytologi i århundreder. Templet er et af syv havtempler omkring den balinesiske kyst. Taman Ayun-templet oversættes bogstaveligt som 'smuk have' og betragtes generelt som et af de mest attraktive templer på Bali. Taman Ayun-templet ligger i en smuk park med træer og damme nær landsbyen Mengwi i den sydlige del af Bali, omkring 8 km sydvest for Ubud og 18 km nordvest for Denpasar. Pura Taman Ayun blev bygget i 1634 af Raja of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Putu. Det er et såkaldt Pura Kawiten, eller familietempel, et særligt tempel, hvor de guddommeliggjorte forfædre fra Raja-dynastiet i Mengwi og vigtige guder fra andre templer æres.

The driver/guide, Nik was very tentative on what we needed, on time, guided us through the sights, waited patiently for us to take all those beautiful photos of the temples. We had a wonderful time, although the traffic was bad and it was cloudy no dramatic sunset. We highly recommend this tour and Nik as your guide.

Nik was able to weave his way thru the heavy Bali traffic, made worse by road and bridge closures after the recent deadly floods, and get us to both temples with plenty of time to enjoy them. We even managed to squeeze in a visit to a coffee plantation - well done Nik! The temples were peaceful and quiet and filled us with a sense of calm and serenity. Well worth the visit.

Well worth the trip! We were picked up directly from our villa in Seminyak. Putu our guide/driver was early, and did an excellent job of getting us safely through the traffic! Putu accompanied us at all times, sharing his knowledge of the history and traditions associated with both temples. The car was clean, with good air conditioning & free bottled water. Would definitely recommend to others.

Nyoman took us to Tanah Lot and Taman Ayun temples. Taman Ayun was quiet and beautiful; definitely a little off the beaten path but worth a visit if you have time. Tanah Lot was beautiful, especially if you can walk around the coastline area. It was a great afternoon excursion, and Nyoman took really great photos of us! He was really nice and communicated about the experience— it was great to have someone to take us around and get beautiful sunset pics!
