Tallinn Old Town Tour kombineret med Bog Walk

Beskrivelse

I'm not at all "outdoorsy" but one of my friends wanted to take the bog walk and I am so glad we did. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable about the local birds, plants, and habitat. It was wonderful to be out of the city. About half of the walk is through the forest on solid ground. Once in the bog, visitors walk on a 3 plank boardwalk which narrows to 2 planks as the walk progresses deeper and deeper into the bog. There are no handrails and the boardwalk rests inches above the bog surface. Sturdy shoes are a must. (Leave the sandals and open toes shoes at the hotel) Participants should be steady on their feet and comfortable walking in a single file as there is no room to walk side by side on the boardwalk. It was not a difficult walk for my friends and I (ages 72 and 81) but it is a one way trek and quite lengthy. There are no "bathroom breaks." I suggest those with small children or mobility issues contact the provider with any questions.
We were three couples on this tour and Chris was our guide. He was extremely informative about the history and culture of Tallin and Estonia but also had a great personality and sense of humor. The bog walk was interesting and challenging. You had to walk a two plank wide raised path for half the distance. In the old town Tallin walk Chris took us through the most important and interesting areas and areas with the best views. He was patient and also helpful with suggestions of where to shop and not shop and where to eat and where not to eat.
Fabulous experience. A short, but wonderful bog walk with mother nature at her finest. Then a fascinating tour through Tallinn Old Town. Our guide, Jorge, was very knowledgeable and provided a running commentary on the history of Estonia and the micro-climate of the bog. If you want to do something different, try a bog hike. The history of Estonia is also interesting.
Our guide Brigetta was very knowledgeable about the natural history of Viru Bog. Despite the rain we had a great little hike. The old town walk was also great and our guide held us spellbound with her stories about the history and culture of the area.
Great to do both city and nature. Guide (Eero) was very knowledgable and put his personal touch on things. Able to be flexible with both kids (7, 9, and 12 years old) and my mom (in her 60s). Highly recommend!
