First of all, very good customer service! We were supposed to do this activity on Terceira, but it was cancelled due to the weather. Because we could not do another day there, it could be rescheduled to a later time on Sao Miguel. Super solution! The crew is great and despite the rougher seas we felt very safe. We all went into the water twice and got to see the dolphins. Highly recommended!
This was AMAZING and a must do. Guides for us in the water three different times with a massive pod of dolphins, and it was the experience of a lifetime.
The dolphins were great fun to watch from the boat. They are fast and challenging to see in the water. Fun experience!
It was an incredible experience. Joana and André were very attentive and caring. Always worried and ready to help. And, of course, not forgetting Diogo at the watchpoint so we could get as close to the dolphins as possible. Unforgettable tomorrow swimming with the dolphins right there nearby. Thank you Picos da Aventura for the excellent organization.
Nice experience. Both the dolphins swim seen and also from the boat. Guidance was expert. The fast boat on the water was also nice.
The guides were incredible, within 15 min they found the first Dolphins. They managed that we could swim with them 4 times. The Dolphins also accompanied us when we were driving with the boat, it seemed as they were enjoying our company too. The 2 hours passed by quickly, but luckily the guides made videos and we can refresh our memories regularly. We felt very save the entire trip.
Amazing experience. We've done whale shark swimming in Mexico, turtles in Hawaii, scuba diving in the Florida Keys, snorkeling in Thailand... This swimming with dolphins was far and away one of the best experiences of all. We were the only boat out there, it was my husband and I and probably 5 other people on a rubber boat with 3 guides. Wet suits and snorkel gear are provided. We got three chances to swim with the dolphin pods, the quieter and smoother you got off the boat, the longer the dolphins would stick around. It was epic, no life jackets required to be worn on the boat. Would do this again if we are ever back on Terceira! The water is way warmer out to sea than it is on the coast, by the way!
It was a wonderfully beautiful and unique experience! We have seen at least 10-15 dolphins swimming under and around us. The escorts on the boat (Francisco and Juana, if I am not mistaken) were enthusiastic and very capable. Definitely worth the price too. Highly recommended for anyone coming to Terceira!
We came to the island specially for this experience as it was my mom’s birthday present to swim with the dolphins. When we arrived at the meeting spot, the lady first couldn’t find our booking and later just said that the swimming was cancelled due to bad weather and we can either cancel or choose another activity. May I just say that the weather was nice, the sea calm and the company next to them was doing the same trip that day with no problem so a weird coincidence that they were not. The company was texting us throughout the previous week about the weather and the day before the trip they confirmed that everything was to be in order and the trip would happen. The lady said the weather conditions supposedly had changed in the evening but I don’t understand why the hadn’t informed us about it. The meeting time is 8am so we wouldn’t have woken up earlier to get there had we known in the evening it got cancelled. The real issue was probably that it wasn’t worthwhile for them to make a trip just for 2 people and they would probably cancel it the next day as well had we tried to postpone it - something that the lady weirdly didn’t suggest to keep a client. We decided to cancel the trip with them and went with another company that with no problem delivered. I don’t recommend swimming with dolphins with that company as they have few customers for that activity and probably will not do it if they have just you as a group for this day.
Amazing experience! Guides were extremely helpful and kind! It took some time before we managed to get a good sight but they didn’t stop searching to give us the best experience possible. Ended up sighting a whole “family” in 2 out of 3 spots we dove. Absolutely recommend this experience for people that visit this island! Thanks Franciso and João for guiding us throughout this experience and to the entirety of the Picos de Aventura team for making this possible!
