If you're looking for an authentic food experience in Marrakech, this tour is a must. Our guide, Smail, was outstanding and transformed what could have been a simple food tour into a fascinating introduction to Moroccan culture, history, and daily life. Over the course of the tour, we sampled a wide variety of local specialties that are rarely found in guidebooks or tourist-oriented restaurants: • Msemen – a flaky, layered Moroccan flatbread. • Traditional Moroccan mint tea. • Bissara – a rich and comforting fava bean soup enjoyed by locals. • Kefta Mkaouara – flavorful meatballs cooked in a traditional tomato sauce. • Mixed brochettes – including kefta, beef liver, and turkey. • Spiced Moroccan chicken. • Freshly prepared green beans with local seasonings. • Fruit panaché smoothie, served as dessert. Smail explained that fresh fruit is a common dessert in Morocco. • A selection of Moroccan pastries and sweets, including Feqqas, Chebakia, Briouat, and Bastilla. What made this experience truly unique is that all of these dishes were served at small, family-run, no-name food stalls hidden throughout the Medina. These are places we would never have discovered on our own. Many of the vendors speak little or no French or English, making it difficult for most tourists to fully appreciate what they are eating without a knowledgeable local guide. Smail's knowledge went far beyond food. Throughout the tour, he shared interesting facts about Morocco and Marrakech, explained local customs and traditions, gave us practical bargaining tips for the souks, and recommended attractions worth visiting. When I mentioned that I was looking for fabrics, he even took the time to show me the best fabric shop in the Medina. The pace of the tour was relaxed, and there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Whether the topic was food, history, culture, shopping, or everyday life in Morocco, Smail always provided informative and professional answers. This tour is perfect for travelers who want to experience the real Marrakech beyond the typical tourist spots. You leave not only with a full stomach but also with a much deeper understanding of the city, its people, and its culinary traditions. Highly recommended. Fun, informative, incredible variety of delicious food. I’ve taken many food tours in a variety of countries. This is among the best.

I booked this last minute on a Saturday evening whilst visiting Marrakesh for the first time. It was a really good call and a good way to be introduced to the Medina buzz through food. I loved that he knew a lot and took us into the more residential part to sample dishes there. The small group all gelled well together too so the chat was friendly and welcoming.

Ismail was fantastic, very knowledgeable and flexible, tailoring the tour around us and our preferences. One of the best tours I've been on, lots of hidden gems that weren't on maps/popular with tourists. Would highly recommend

Tour is more than just food. Guide shared history that made it very interesting. Food choices were excellent. Don’t eat breakfast before the tour because you need to save room for the delicious food!
