The good: our guide Mike was terrific, and the tour covered a lot of what we were interested to see and hear. The bad: there was some kind of miscommunication between Viator and the local tour company so Mike showed up two hours early and when he took us to a restaurant for lunch it was NOT covered for us as the Viator listing had claimed.
We recommend the agency and especially Guia Marvin. Very polite, attentive to safety, great knowledge of all topics covered on the tour. Standard care.
This was the best guide I ever have, Mr Marvin was amazing, I love all the tour, Mr Marvin is very good and a amazing person, he shows us everything
Amazing hours spent under the complete information of the Marvin Guide. Careful. Updated. Gentle. Responsible for the direction. In short: a great day.
Gabriel was wonderful. Sympathetic and accommodating when there was a slight mixup in pickup time from the hotel. Had a wonderful private tour. Added a lot of info at Apartheid Museum, then let me spend some time on my own exploring. Eye opening driving tour of Soweto, three areas"Beverley Hills, East and West Orlando". Stop at Desmond Tutu's house, tour of Nelson Mandela's house, walk along Valansky Street, great buffet lunch at Sakhumzi. Saw many sites important in the fight against Apartheid. Amazing first day in South Africa with Gabriel who was full of information and great company!
Marvin, our local guide, was extremely punctual, attentive, didactic. Private vehicle for 4 people, which provided agility to the city tour. We could learn a little about the sad recent history of apartheid.
It was perfect tour, we saw everything in city with totally safety . The tour guide was excellent and he knows the area and the people here very well ! I recommend it to every one to do this tour !!
Nic picked us up from our accomodation and we spent a fascinating and fun 9 hours with him. It was me, my partner and 3 young adult family members. Nic was the perfect guide who had a vast knowledge and made us feel safe at all times. Even in Soweto we felt totally safe. The apartheid museum, constitution hill jail and human rights court were fabulous. We saw Mandela’s house and loads of other interesting things. Having been unsure about whether to spend a day in Johannesburg at all, I could not have been more pleased to have done this and to have seen the good and bad of this interesting city. I could not recommend this tour more highly.
It was our 1st day in South Africa and we we were very excited to learn the history of the country and this is the best way to have it. Our guide Michael was excellent, informative, patient to thousands of question , very friendly. The entire trip was going around all the major places in Johannesburg and understanding the major monuments, buildings, followed by constitution hill and then to Apartheid Museum, followed by Sowetho. I think this is one of the best trips to start your trip to South Africa
Very interesting to visit the prison and Soweto. The trip through the city of Johannesburg was a bit tenuous and could have been skipped.
