I was nervous booking a solo wine tasting in Como, but I could not have had a better time! The experience was incredible and I got to meet the owner’s son and spend time tasting some of the selection they were deciding whether to sell in their store. The wines were amazing and the staff knowledgeable about the selection and very kind to me overall. It was the highlight of my holiday in Como! I will definitely be coming back.
Sandu was amazing. Her knowledge of the wine and area was incredible. The selection of wine was varied and she really listened to our preferences. Would highly recommend visiting this tasting for a unique, relaxed afternoon in Como
A truly delightful experience! Richard and Joanna made the tasting great and fun with their detailed information on each wine; the cheeses and vegees complimented the wines some addional pours were thoughtful and certainly enhanced the taking even more. We are so happy we chose this experience and recommend it to all. Should also mention the xtreme courtesy extended to us by the hosts and YES each wine was perfect!
Absolutely outstanding wine tasting. Wines and food all excellent and presented by Riccardo and his family in an informative and friendly way. This was as good as any other wine tasting I've been on around the world - and I've been on a good few!!!!

My husband and I were traveling for our honeymoon. The wine tasting was a great evening out. The staff was very friendly and nice. There was a variety of good wine, meats and cheeses. I definitely recommend booking a tasting!

Our booking with Capitan Drake for the wine, cheese & meat pairing exceeded all of our expectations! Our hostess, Sandu, was an impressive young lady. She was very engaging and thoroughly enjoyed sharing her love and knowledge of wine with both novice and those just a little bit more than novice. She shared four Italian wines from different areas of Italy and showed great depth and understanding of each one from terroir to bottle. The meat and cheese were as wonderful as the wine. Likely the best prosciutto I have ever eaten. As a bonus, she concluded our tasting with a very special Primitivo, which was absolutely fabulous! We were delighted with all of the wines Sandu chose for our tasting and purchased the three reds, which included the Primitivo. We chose this experience randomly to begin our three day stay in Como. Would highly recommend a visit for a tasting or just to purchase a bottle of wine, or two. The store had a great selection of international wines as well. The timing of our visit was not in the height of the touring season, therefore, our group of four were the only ones on a Thursday around 5:30pm. In season, this might be a tough seat to get, plan ahead. This is a must do in Como.

Very interesting and entertaining wine tasting. The young sommelier was very knowledgeable and took us through some very good Italian wines.
