Rejseplan
Turen slutter omkring kl.

Tried a lot of different foods, which was delicious! Ended the tour at a lovely coffee shop run by two women, the coffee was really good and they showed everything about the coffee ceremony.
Our guide was lovely and very helpful. He told us A LOT about the country, the current political situation, the history, his family, etc - all fascinating. What he didn't tell us much about ... was the food (On a food tour). We didn't really discussed the food. He said a thing or two about the bread and spices, but nothing in-depth. A food tour needs to include the food we are eating, how it is made, why we are eating this instead of something else, why we are at this restaurant, how does the food fit into the historical context ... etc. We didn't ask any questions about the food because he didn't seem to know much about it. However, would we do this tour again - yes. He took good care of us, the food was delicious, and we really, really enjoyed the conversation.
Mulugeta was an amazing tour guide. We are so glad we went on this food tour, we tried some delicious foods we never would have known to try. 10 out of 10!
The tour focuses on meat, fish, veg and coffee and was good, made into something exceptional by our guide Mulugeta who took care of our getting around and educated us politely about the dishes and Ethiopian ways. This is something special if you replicate it !
Mulugeta did a great job of taking us to delicious places. We started at a vegetarian, that was good and interesting. Next we went to a fish house that was delicious. The whole tilapia was fried and served with a house special spicy sauce. We ended at a beef house, the beef was good tasting but a little tough. We ended with a local coffee, that was like nothing I’ve had before. Adding the rue definitely changed the flavor. We enjoyed some local beers at each stop. Nice tour of you want to get a quick taste of Ethiopian food!
We had a wonderful Tastes of Ethiopia food tour. With our short layover in Addis Ababa, it was the perfect way to get to see some of the city and to taste the delicious cuisine. Our guide, Mulugeta, did a great job leading us to four stops. At the vegetarian restaurant, we had injera with spicy potato, cabbage, carrots, shiro (our favorite), pea, plain and spicy lentil, and also uncooked which he explained was not safe for us to eat. Each was delicious and a very traditional Ethiopia staple. Next we made our way to the Genesis Fish House where we feasted on delicious fried tilapia. The accompanying sauce was especially good. Our third stop was a coffee house where we learned about the roasting process and tasted local coffee with rue to dip in which dramatically changed the taste. We ended at the Atlas Food Area where we tried some delicious beef in a unique fire pot. It was served with injera and a spicy mustard-chili sauce. Absolutely delicious! Each food stop includes some local beer to try. Mulugeta did an awesome job describing the foods and also providing great detail about life and culture in Ethiopia. Overall, an outstanding tour, especially if you enjoy trying new types of food.
Very friendly, knowledgable Guide, well Chosen restaurants and many insights on the way. We explored an interesting area of addis which I had not discovered before.
We had an amazing time during this tour. Our guide, Mulugeta, was the absolute best. His knowledge of the city history and cuisine was unparalleled. The whole experience was full of fun and energy, this is an absolute must-do if you find yourself in Addis Ababa. Mulugeta first took us to Tadesse Grand for a vegan stop, then to Genesis Fish House, then we had a lovely walk to Yilma Butchery for beef and finally enjoyed some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life at Tiru coffee stop. I have nothing bad to say about this tour. If you decide not to put this on your tour list you will be missing out. Really great time!
I had a wonderful food tour, trying what I think of as traditional Ethiopian food as well as visiting specialty restaurants for fish and beef. The coffee ceremony at the final stop was the perfect end to the day. I learned so much about the country, culture, customs and politics from my guide Mulugeta in addition to the fantastic cuisine.
Birhanu was a great guide, took us to great Resturants, shared fantastic cooking and cultural insight and generally made far a fantastic afternoon. Highly recommend. This operation clearly has done there homework.
