Spring over linjen: Museumsoptagelsesbillet - Grohmann Museum

This art museum, featuring one man's deep collection of mainly European paintings that depict humans at work, was one of the most engrossing niche art museums we've seen anywhere in the world. Despite it being a vanity collection, it is world-class and should not be missed. Four floors of paintings (from the 1500s, all the way to present-day) and a rooftop garden with large Rodin-like sculptures of laborers.

An incredible collection of industrial art. More bronze sculptures than I have ever seen in one place. The paintings were stunning. Definitely worth a visit. Go to the roof top sculpture garden as well.

Very unique museum. Loved the mosaic at the entry and the sculpture garden. I will definitely return and highly recommend this museum.

We The People is an exhibit not to be missed while it is there until August Fabulous rooftop and permanent exhibits as well.

Quiet and peaceful, really had a good time. Has beautiful artwork. Would be a good date or field trip with kids.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Felt like we were the only ones in the museum. We especially enjoyed the roof, top sculptures, and views of the city. You won’t be disappointed.

This was a really interesting museum. There's big copper statues of working people from the turn of the 20th century on a garden area outside the building on the top floor and then three floors of paintings showing people at work doing things we're familiar with and some that we're not. There were also audio explanation of types of work that we weren't familiar with. It was definitely worth the $3 entrance fee.

This was our first time visiting the Art museum at MSOE. The day we chose to go there, it was not busy so we did not have to wait in line for a ticket. Meaning you do not have to buy the ticket on line in advance as I chose to do.

I will start out by saying, if you have to choose between the Grohmann and the Milwaukee Art Museum, hands down choose the Grohmann. Art is themed around labor but it is talented known artists who happened to have done work with that theme. Works date back to 1600s. Small but fantastic rooftop sculpture garden. An Edmund Fitzgerald exhibit (perhaps a special display?). Museum is right in town. Part of the Milwaukee School of Engineering but its own distinct (beautiful) building. Go.
