Best disgusting fiod ever. Best disgusting fiod ever.
Super nice, very exciting with all taste and smell experiences 🙏🏼
Very pleasant and interesting. Although the "disgusting food" exhibit is, in general, less visually striking than I perhaps expected, there are many that are quite curious. The tasting part becomes very fun, thanks to the staff who work there.
Sadly, I experienced a racist incident here because of some of the origins of the exhibits. It soured my remaining time there, and I left immediately, and I didn’t and couldn’t feel I could stay for the tastings. Avoid if you don’t want to be racially abused.
Hi Pip, After reading your review, we spoke with the members of staff who worked that day so we could better understand what had happened. We are truly sorry that another visitor directed racist comments towards you during your visit. No one should ever have to experience that. Those comments were completely unacceptable and represent the exact opposite of what the Disgusting Food Museum stands for. Our mission is to show that disgust is cultural rather than universal, and to encourage curiosity, respect and understanding of different cultures, never judgment or prejudice. Our colleague immediately apologized when you spoke with her and wanted to help further, but understands that you chose to leave before she had the opportunity. Had we known who the other visitor was, we would have asked them to leave the museum immediately. We have zero tolerance for racist or discriminatory behaviour towards our visitors. We are genuinely sorry that someone else's behaviour overshadowed your visit. If you would be willing to contact us at info@disgustingfoodmuseum.com, we would very much appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly and see how we can make this right.
Absolutely vile! Definitely recommended for people curious about food and food culture. Great experience, even though I almost threw up a couple of times (but I think that is on purpose). The exhibit is good and interesting. The second part of the exhibition lets you smell some of the foods (I did the first and skipped the rest - almost threw up again). My mate told me the cheeses smell the same but different strengths, so smell a cheese and smell a fish may be the way to go. (although you should smell and taste both hákarl and surströmnin, because, rotten fish, why not?). The last part lets you taste some of the foods (if you dare). The caramel butter, Vegemite and the licorice was nice. I didn't dare to try the rest.
The museum was smaller than I expected, but it was still worth a visit. The best part was definitely the tasting!! The staff were great. Special thanks to Alexander. They even put on a little show for us outside and opened a can of surströmming!
Went with wife and a 16-year old. 16-year old: fund but ”too much too read” (Kids today…) We expected more smelling stations, more interactivity. There were only a handful or so.
Nice experience, but some expensive visit in relation to the activity. You actually just go in queues in a smaller room.
It was very interesting, curious, and thanks to the great staff, a super fun tasting.
Great and interesting museum. Alexander our guide during the "tasting" did a great job. We had a lot of laughs and did not make it to the end..... Go there and experience your self and ask for Alexander.
