Our tour guide, Lello, was amazing! He has extensive knowledge of Pompeii and understands the importance of preserving its history. His background as an archeologist added to the experience of the tour. It was our second trip to Pompeii, and we learned so many things from him that we did not learn during our other tour. We had a really great tour of Pompeii. We booked a four hour tour to get the most out of the day. Our guide Italo went out of his way to make it the best tour experience possible. He had great knowledge of Pompeiian history, the site and the ongoing excavations. He was interesting and very engaging throughout the day. We came away with the sense of the real Pompeii and the people who lived there. We paid extra for a car from our hotel and back again, so glad we did. We were ready for a good rest afterwards, there’s a lot of walking to do, but it was so worth it. I would highly recommend this company for your Pompeii trip. There’s still more to see on another visit. Thanks Italo!
Our tour of Pompeii was one of our favorite experiences of our trip! Our tour guide's name was Italo, and he absolutely made the tour what it was. He was friendly, funny, personable, and very knowledgeable about Pompeii - beyond what I would expect of an average tour guide. He told us everything we were going to see and the important context of Pompeii before we began the tour and let us know that his goal was to teach us how to identify what we saw so that we could get the most out of our visit. He explained everything in a very clear and interesting way and welcomed any questions we had. We spent about 3 hours at Pompeii and though it is a very large place we felt like we got the most we could out of our time and hit all the big things. Pompeii is such an interesting place and definitely worth visiting, especially with a good tour guide and skip-the-line (it made a big difference)
Guia Gel was very good people. He showed us beautiful places. Always passing on information about each place visited. Every detail of the region.
We booked our private tour with Lello as recommended by a coworker who had raved about her experience and it turned out to be one of our favorite experiences we have ever had. Lello is an endless wealth of knowledge and we learned so much from him as he is one of the site's archeologists. Had we tried to see Pompeii on our own or even with a larger, shorter time frame tour we would have missed out on so much. The archeological site is just incredible to see and Lello brought it to life with his stories and humor. Since our group was just my husband and I we were able to move ahead and see many of the sites without having to wait behind the crowds. If we would have booked this same tour everyday for a week I have no doubt that Lello would not have run out of things to teach us. It is hard to put into words how wonderful our experience was. We can't wait to return in the future to see what new discoveries have been unearthed!
Our personal tour guide Lello was amazing! City is large and so well preserved! Lello was super knowledgeable on the archeology, engineering, art, and customs of the time. My family agreed this was our best tour after coming from various tours in Rome.
