Our stand-in driver João was excellent. Why did we need a stand-in driver? Despite confirmation emails no driver arrived. We called the local provider and they arranged a driver. He was unfamiliar with our tour but acquitted himself admirably. It will be a long time before I or my friends use Viator again.
Our drivers are professional and certified by Portugal’s tourism department, they are not stand-in drivers like said. As said to you on the phone the car that was scheduled to pick you up had an accident and we had to replace it at the moment and it was also why your tour started 30min after the scheduled time. we apologized for that and gave you extra time, beside that you were picked up at the cruise ship terminal instead of the hotel like we usually do and your bags were kept inside the car and secured by the driver all the time FOR FREE. Also you were given all the historical information and taken to see all of Sintra’s highlights like it is discribed at the itinerary. The driver could not be unfamiliar with your tour because otherwise he was not sent to do it and he did such a bad job that you gave him a 30% tip!!!!! A 30% tip does not reveal unsatisfaction. We apologize once again for getting late and we also would like to appeal to your conscience to edit your review because you were not clearly unsatisfied, therefore a one star review seems a bit unfair and we would kindly ask you to reconsider.
This is a wonderful tour! We were picked up from our hotel in Lisbon. It was myself, my husband, and my son. Joaquim Bernardino was our private chauffeur/driver. He was absolutely amazing!! He was very kind, knowledgeable and patient. He took us to explore Sintra village, Quinta da Regaleira, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais. He even recommended a wonderful lobster lunch. I highly recommend this tour and Joaquim as your personal private driver if you’re in Lisbon and want to see Sintra. You will not be disappointed

Vivienne was our driver/tour guide and she provided excellent service. She very competently drove us throughout Lisbon in the morning and then took us out to Caiscais and Sintra in the afternoon. A beautiful, stress free tour. Well worth the cost.

Lovely driver, told us all about the area, very warm and friendly. The things we saw were all worth seeing and the flexible drop-off and pick-up took a lot of the stress out of walking around lost!

We were completely deceived by the description of this experience. We basically got a driver to take us to Sintra and Peña Palace. He offered no explanations or guiding and fully expected us to do our own tour. Also when we left Peña, the driver left us stranded and we had to pay for a Tuk Tuk down to Sintra. Given what we paid, and the title of the tour, this was a misleading experience. We could have just used an Uber. Do not book either the half or full day tour with this company. We also requested a partial refund but were denied.
Hello You were not deceived by anyone, you simple both the first thing that appeared on the screen without paying any attention on what you were buying if not you would have bought the Full day tour instead as you told the driver that was what you really wanted instead of the Half day tour. Unfortunately and as you were told we had no availability for the full day tour and as agreed with the driver that you would be left in Sintra so you could visit whatever you wanted, the driver even stoped on the way so you could buy the tickets for Pena Palace, WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED on the tour, and as said on the inclusions and exclusions, a Half day tour is a summarized version of a full day tour. You were also said that the tour had a 4 hours duration, onde again, when you were left at Pena Palace to visit and the driver was waiting for you until 1pm still. You were not left stranded, you just didn’t care about the time and decided things on your own. Instead of contact us directly to manifest your dislike for the situation you went straight to Viator trying to be refunded for a mistake that you did saying that the tour didn’t happened! Well, your comment just proves that it’s not true! It did happened you were not happy or pleased for your own mistake and you are just trying to make someone to take the blame for you. We are honest people and the information is crystal clear! It’s there! You just have to read it! Or question people about it! As simple as that! Advising people not buy or book our tours based on a mistake that you did and also try to do bad advertising doesn’t seem to be very honest from you, but we will let other people’s comments speak for it/ourselves if you ever decide to read it, and we will be more then proud to keep your review on our page so other people can realize and know who we are and not to commit the mistake that you did! We had a friendly, informative guide, Jorge, who did everything he could to make our trip seamless, entertaining and comfortable. The lines, cars and crowds at the castle were extensive and he was able to help us make the best of it by knowing what to expect and giving us tips. A great and memorable day for our family!

Great private tour. Time to explore Sintra and Peña Palace on our own, with Pedro dropping off and picking up right at entrance. We had to change itinerary due to Ironman event in Cascais. Pedro brought us to another lovely beach town and made lunch reservations for an amazing seafood restaurant! Wonderful, full day. Highly recommend.
