We did the 4x4 jeep safari with tour guide David who was informative, knowledgeable and fun. The views were outstanding, definitely recommend.
Nice tour with nice guide. We got to see different parts of the island the wine tasting on the northern part was nice. However, their wines were cheaper village shop than they were at the vineyard.
Whilst no off roading, the smaller roads were steep and rough, can be challenging in a Land Rover for some.
Great tour with fun activities, and super guidance! John has done the very nice thing and David in training is bound to do very well. Recommended!
Awful, they didn’t turn up and when eventually got through to company they said they had cancelled it as a bit of road is closed and told trip advisor. No one informed us. Wasted the morning of our holiday to to resolve
Hello Dear We really do not understand this review after your reservation was canceled and refunded. We are not responsible for your failure to answer several calls or read several phone and WhatsApp messages, in addition to the emails we sent you through the Viator/Tripadvisor platform (message below). We contacted you in every way possible, without success. The fact that you are on vacation should not prevent you from answering calls or reading messages and emails. Unfortunately, we are in the rainy season. The tour did not take place due to the weather, as the off-road section and the vineyards tour could not be carried out for safety reasons. All the best, True Spirit Team Hello Dear Customer We hope you’re doing well. Unfortunately, we’ve just been informed by the local authorities that the off-road section of the tour you booked is currently closed. For safety reasons, we won’t be able to operate the tour tomorrow as planned. We kindly ask that you cancel your reservation through Viator/Tripadvisor, and we will promptly authorize the refund. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Thank you. Best regards, Luísa True Spirit Nov 5, 2025, 03:18 PM True Spirit Nov 5, 2025, 06:34 PM
Best tour by far! Diogo Camacho our tour guide was an absolute rock star. Weather was semi cooperating so we weren’t able to get to all our stops but Diogo made sure we didn’t miss out on anything. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly!
Lots of riding in a cramped 4x4 Land Rover (maybe 2/3 of the total time spent). Skywalk was a snooze:10-15 minute stop to walk out 50 yards to a platform slightly over the cliff and take photos. Cost=3euros pp. There are few things to do on the island beyond look at volcanic structures and, while driving around the island and visiting wineries. Plus, lunch on your own after paying $100 US pp. was another 50 euros.
Hello Dear customer Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our Land Rover 4x4 tour is designed to showcase the most authentic and less accessible side of Madeira, travelling through rural roads and unique landscapes away from the usual tourist routes. The stop at the Skywalk is intentionally brief as it is often a very busy viewpoint; however, it offers spectacular cliff views and a great photo opportunity. The €3 entrance fee is charged directly by the site administration, not by our company. Regarding lunch, we leave guests free to choose where and what to eat, so everyone can adapt the experience to their own tastes and budget. Madeira is internationally recognised as one of Europe’s safest and most welcoming destinations. On this tour, guests not only enjoy dramatic volcanic scenery and charming villages but also have the chance to encounter Madeira’s world-famous fortified wine, local traditions and genuine hospitality. For many visitors, this full day tour combining natural scenery, culture, wines and the island’s outstanding safety is one of the best ways to discover Madeira in an authentic and sustainable way. We hope to welcome you again in the future and offer an experience that better suits your preferences. Kind regards, True Spirit Team
The 4x4 wine tasting was great fun and took in some very narrow and muddy roads as well as the old mountain roads. The views were fantastic, and the tours around the wineries and the wine tasting itself was excellent. Highly recommended.
From start to finish this was a fantastic tour made even better by Joao our driver/guide and the other passengers in the jeep. The tour included a variety of experiences including wine tasting, stunning views and the roof being removed and standing while being driven around narrow roads by Joao. If you do one trip while on Madeira, do this one. Thank you Joao and our lovely fellow passengers for a day not to be forgotten.
Great experience! Very nice day spent with Joao who was very helpful and shared a lot of interesting stories about the island and the narure around us. Highly recommended!
