ZAGORI – En klynge af 46 stenlandsbyer, hvor lokal sten blev forvandlet til vidunderlige bygninger og gader. Bygget blandt de stejle skråninger af kalkstensbjergene og de dybe flodkløfter, der omgiver dem, harmonisk blandet med dem. Vi begynder vores daglige guidede tur fra den maleriske dal i det vestlige Zagori, forbi Aristi og beundrer det udviklende landskab i mellemtiden. Vi stopper ved floden Voidomatis, en af de reneste floder i Europa, hvor du kan kaste dig ud i dets iskolde vand, hvis du ønsker det, og derefter klatre til landsbyerne Papigo. Vi besøger Ovires Rogovo, naturlige bassiner i en smal kløft og derefter landsbyen Mikro Papigo. Så kommer vi tilbage for at krydse en 1.090 m. pass for at komme til det centrale Zagori for at få en storslået udsigt over Vikos Canyon på dets dybeste (næsten en kilometer). Der spiser vi en lille snack med traditionelle tærter (som spinattærter, årstidens frugter og lokale slik og fortsætter med at besøge Dilofo, en landsby i centrum af Zagori.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this experience. Giorgos was my guide and though the Zagori in itself is spectacular, he made the experience even better: the passion he has for his region is infectious and he has a wide knowledge on many facets of the area. The scenery is awesome in the traditional sense of the word. The entire setting is bucolic. The local history has a romanticism about it. This trip offers a taste of the region and for me, it only makes me want to return to explore it further.

Excellent opportunity to see the historic bridges, towns, buildings and the Gorge. History and geology combined in a wonderful all day tour.

Very nice architecture, for a good spot in the aerea of Zagoria and Pinde mountains, Epirus the other Greece to discover.

A full day of touring the mountains, rivers, villages - amazing, guided by Alexis. He was very informative and knowledgeable of all the areas. The nature and locality were just mesmerizing, even the roads views.

We arrived early to meet with our guide and to our surprise we were the only ones on the tour! What a wonderful start to the day. Alexios, our guide, made sure our stuff was stowed safely and then he asked if we'd like water or a snack. This thoughtfulness was carried on throughout the entire day. We saw a lot of places during our visit through West and Central Zagori: magical villages, each a little different, stunning bridges and breathtaking landscape! We stopped at a Taverna to try the local fried cheese and Tsipouro (at our cost) and for lunch he supplied the local spanakopita, water and a small sweet. Alexios was so knowledgeable about the area and his enthusiasm was infectious. He lives for this job! He made our day a memorable one and we saw and tried things that we may not have attempted (or known about) on our own. Totally Recommend
Our guide was great. He had a huge amount of knowledge, which he was happy to share with us. We would definitely recommend the tour!

An wonderful tour in a Holy Day on the Holy Week before the Orthodox Easter. With a very knowledgeable guide, who loves the region and who showed us some hidden gems from the area...who wants more? Even Dimitris loves canyoning, you may consider yourself lucky if you will have him as guide for a tour in the region of Zagori.

10 out of 10 tour that includes EVERYTHING in Zagori! We had the BEST tour guide that was so knowledgeable of the land and history. Vassili made our tour feel almost customized and made sure to show us as much as possible. He was so kind we ended up developing a friendship over the course of our tour!
