Lotus silke er en af Jordens mest sjældne tekstiler. Vi er blandt de sidste værger af denne 1.000 år gamle Khmer teknik næsten tabt i historien. UNESCO Award-vinder: Excellence recipient (2012) for at bevare tekstil arv på randen af udryddelse og genoplive traditionelle metoder. Luxury Fashion Source: Eksklusiv leverandør til internationale luksushuse. De samme lotusfibre, du vil røre ved, eksporteres for at skabe tekstiler værdi på $400 - $7,500. Komplet cirkulær økonomi: 100% lotus udnyttelse. En fabrik bliver til tekstiler, smykker, papir, te og kosmetik – absolut nul affalds innovation. Hands-on skabelse: I virkeligheden skabe tre arvstykker (papir, garn, armbånd) ved hjælp af gamle teknikker. Tag hjem det, du laver. Hellig symbolisme: Lotus er buddhismens mest ærede blomst, der repræsenterer renhed og forvandling. Autentisk Social Enterprise: At støtte 150 kvindelige håndværkere gennem ægte kulturel bevarelse, ikke performativ turisme.

It was a fascinating tour! I had no idea you could do so much with lotus. We did the package with the tour (overview of the lotus life cycle and silk processing), the 3 workshops (making a silk thread bracelet, making paper, and making a bracelet out of lotus seeds), and a boat ride on the lotus pond. The boat ride was very hot (in the sun and not much breeze so close to the water surrounded by lotus) but they provided parasols, which really helped. The other parts were under roofs. If you do the workshops, note that the paper you make will take 24 hours to dry. You can make arrangements to get it the next day by returning to the pick-up point or other options.
