Guba-Shahdag-turen er en rejse gennem den europæiske del af Aserbajdsjan. Langs Det Kaspiske Hav langs Samur-Divichinsky-lavlandet er der en vej, der tager turister med semi-express til bjergene i Nordkaukasus. En tur til et af de mest populære skisportssteder i Aserbajdsjan, beliggende på Shahdag-bjerget – er en rejse gennem den store steppe og blændende sneklædte bjerge.

Vi henter fra centrale hoteller i Baku undtagen hoteller, der er beliggende i den gamle by og i nærheden. At gæster kommer til de dobbelte porte - hovedporten til den gamle by (Qosha Qala qapisi)
Når du kører langs M1-motorvejen, der forbinder Aserbajdsjans hovedstad med de største byer i Rusland, vil du se bjerget Beshbarmak, der ligger nær kysten af Det Kaspiske Hav. Beshbarmak er et pilgrimssted for den lokale befolkning og har takket være sin højde og form været et glimrende referencepunkt for søfolk siden oldtiden. Det hellige sted "Pir Hydyr Zundzha" ligger ved foden af Beshbarmag-bjerget, hvor de rejsende stopper for at udføre bønner og tilbedelse. En af Aserbajdsjans smukkeste vejstrækninger fører cirka 40 kilometer fra Guba-Baku-motorvejen mod vest mod bjerglandsbyen Altiaghaj. Omtrent midt imellem de to passerer man gennem en dramatisk dal flankeret af bølgende skiferbjerge, hvis forbløffende røde, orange, lyserøde og kridtfarvede hvirvler fik den britiske rejseskribent Mark Elliott (forfatter til den meget populære 'Azerbaijan' guidebog) til at døbe dem Candy Cane Mountains, et navn, der har siddet fast hos rejsende lige siden. De forbløffende farver siges at skyldes grundvand, der har ændret oxidationstilstanden af jernforbindelser i klippen.
Næste destination bliver Guba by, som ligger i et af de smukkeste naturlandskaber i Aserbajdsjan. På vej til Guba vil vores gæster besøge den unikke bosættelse af jøder i bjergene, "Det kaukasiske Jerusalem" - den røde by. Landsbyen har 13 synagoger, hvoraf to er i drift. Der bor omkring 4-5 tusinde jøder i Qirmizi Qesebe, der er symbol på pluralisme i Aserbajdsjan og symbol på fred og harmoni mellem de forskellige religioner.
Qechresh er en af de største landsbyer i Guba-regionen. Området er dækket af skov på alle sider. Qechresh er berømt for sine naturlige kilder og planter. Langs vejen er der rekreative områder og restauranter, hvor du kan prøve det lokale køkken.
Stop på en restaurant til frokost
Sidste punkt på turen vil være Shahdagh Mountain Resort Complex, som ligger i Qusar by. De kan nyde der med forskellige vinterattraktioner. Der er aktiviteter som rollercoaster, kabelbane, zip line og ATV biler.

We had such a fun trip with our guide Yusif! We visited the Candy Cane Mountains, had a great lunch in Guba, and then headed up to Shahdag which everybody needs to visit when coming to Azerbaijan. Even though it started raining a lot in the mountains, Yusif kept the trip enjoyable and made sure we didn’t miss out. He also took amazing photos of us, which made the day even more special. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing one-day tour to Shahdag today with our guide Mr Murad. Everything was perfectly organized — from transportation to sightseeing — and we truly enjoyed every moment. Candy cane mountain stop timing was ok and the mountains were beautiful, great place for insta photos. Stop at Guba shouldve been shorter, the main restaurant was bad and their food was not good at all. Toilets were not good at Guba and at the stop before jn the market! Saving the extra time spent in Guba couldve made it possible for us to try all the rides at Shadag, have better food options, shisha and enjoy the beautiful green mountains! I also bought my tickets with access to the rides and i discovered there that i have to pay for the zipline separately! I couldnt make it to the roller coaster because of the long queue at the zipline so i ended up losing tickets for 2! Toilets at the stop after Shahdag were not good, ladies cannot use them! We were lucky with the tour guide, Dianara, a very sweet girl kept us all entertained. I recommend group option as the trip is too long!

The guide is very friendly and cheerful. We spent many hours on the old mini van, which can be quite uncomfortable if you have car sickness as it is going up and down of a mountain, and it is stuffy and squeezy for 10 passengers and 1 driver to be in a mini van (I was sitting facing the opposite direction throughout the ride). Unfortunately it rained when we reached Shahdag mountain resort and had to do all the activities in the rain, and we were all wet and cold. We booked for an all inclusive tour so lunch was included. It was a big and quiet restaurant which served us very delicious food.
