We signed up for an English speaking tour guide, “who seemed to be very nice” …. but unfortunately our guide had such a heavy accent we could not understand him. I contacted the company to see if we could join another tour group “there were plenty other that day from the same company” but was told no, enjoy our tour. My husband got so frustrated he left the tour. The only benefit was, we did not have to stand in line that long to get in. We booked the tour to enjoy the full history and beauty, it was a lot of $$$ to pay for neither.

We had a terrible experience with Doooing Experience. We pre bought tour tickets for the Doge’s Palace in Venice through Viator. When we met for the tour they had changed our booking to St Mark’s cathedral which is not what we paid for. They would not straighten this out even though I showed the confirmation emails we had received. I had to go to the Doge Palace and purchase more tickets for 34 euros to get the tour that I was interested in. We are also going to contact Viator and complain about Doooing. If they want to see our records my wife has emails and receipts to show what we clearly bought. I was so disgusted with what happened that I didn’t even use the ticket to the cathedral.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this tour ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The guide was super clear and easy to follow — not boring or over the top. Seeing the inside of the Doge’s Palace and then walking straight into the Basilica without waiting in line felt like a cheat code. Both places are amazing in their own way — the art, the ceilings, the crazy history. You don’t need to be a history buff to enjoy it. Just a really cool way to understand what Venice was all about.
