Vores tur starter her. Du vil høre historien om vagthuset og dets spøgelser. Oprindeligt bygget i 1716 er dette den ældste overlevende træbygning i St. Augustine og har set sin retfærdige del af historien. Gennem århundreder har dens mure været kaserne for britiske soldater, en ungdomsskole for og hjemsted for Juan Genopoly, en leder af minorcanerne. Og deres spøgelser har besluttet at blive ved. De gamle byporte i St. Augustine blev bygget i 1808 og erstattede den forringede træstruktur. Stående 3 etager høje er de en populær turistattraktion. Gennem århundreder har de gamle porte holdt byens indbyggere sikret mod invasion. Og den lokale legende siger, at de er hjemsøgt af den 10-årige Elizabeths sjæl.
I 1821, da den gule feber ramte St. Augustine, dræbte den over 400 af dens indbyggere. På det tidspunkt var det mere end en tredjedel af befolkningen. Potter's Wax Museum var det første voksmuseum i Amerika etableret i 1948 og huser 160 plus uhyggelige voksskulpturer. Mange af karaktererne er for længst forbi. Træbygningen, den har til huse i, blev bygget i 1739 og flyttet til dette sted i 1887. Før det var et voksmuseum, var det et apotek og siges at være det ældste apotek i USA. Og det er hjemsøgt!
Tolomato-kirkegården er den ældste gravplads i Florida, der går tilbage til 1700-tallet, og i dag er det det sidste hvilested for biskopper, slaver, mord og over 1000 lig, der lå interneret i dens jord. Information was very limited as what you get with an actual tour guide group. While taking this tour we would run into the tour guided group and their information was more detailed and informative
Hi! Thanks for using the WalknTours app! The tour is about one hour, and provides stories at spots and as you walk. You can go at your own pace, anytime, on your terms, unliked guided tours making it popular for solo travelers, families and those that don't like the restrictions of group tours. If you are looking for that standard guided tour stop of 10 to 15 minute stops with long stories, you won't get that here :). These are meant to be fun, informative and well paced by design. The whole tour is about an hour plus if you do not stop and you'll see many sites in town that many people miss. My family and I did this while put for a belated birthday celebration. We loved being able to go at our own pace, and being able to have a guided walk through some streets that we, somehow, hadn't been despite having gone to St. Augustine multiple times. There was a bit of confusion while we were walking around, though we quickly figured it out. When referencing the Carriage House inn, there are 2 buildings. The first one was on the right, but as we continued down, we realized the stories were a reference to the second Carriage house a bit further down the street and was on the left. Second, the Prince of Wales pub has been permanently closed, and is now ReChic Treasures. Despite those two bits of confusion, my parents and I throughly enjoyed the tour. Also, if doing this at night for a "proper" ghost tour, the Scarlett O'Hara is LOUD. My Mom had difficulty hearing the audio, so we had to go back through that audio after getting the photos we wanted and walking away.

Really fun activity to do! By yourself or with friends! Travel on your on speed is one of my favorites about this! The app was pretty easy to use! Only reason I rated it 4 starts and not 5 because I wish some of the stories were a little longer. But overall I recommend for anyone needing something to do on your own time!
We learned a lot of history of St. Augustine as well as some good ghost tales. The walk is nice and you can go at your own pace.

The tour was fun, Nice to do at your own pace. The only issue was the fact that you get lost and turned around Way too easily. With that being said once you come across another area you wernt looking for the tour changes and starts talking about that location instead of the one you were headed to. So things got a tad confusing, but overall it was a nice tour just gotta pay attention better to certain streets really closely!
Great self-guided tour. After our guided ghost was canceled on us, we were bummed. Then we found this tour and enjoyed doing it at our own pace. So glad are original tour got canceled
I like how he the tour guide felt like he was really with us walking around. I also liked how he said to look up and see a ghost in the window and it was a mannequin. I like the story about the boy named James
