Lost, Called, Hung Up On, Found, Left Behind
Pier 39 is huge. We couldn't find the gate. We called the tour company for directions several times but they immediately hung up on every call. When we found the gate several minuttes before the cruise was to leave but they wouldn't let us in. The crew just stared at us from a few yards away. A few minutes later the boat departed without us--just left us at the gate, the crew and passengers staring at us.

Thank you for reaching out to us, we're sure sorry you had this kind of experience - but being honest, this description sounds like you may not have been at our gate at all. We would love for you to reach out to us directly, give a call, and we can figure out where/when this would have taken place. If you were at our gate, the crew is either at the gate with it open for checkin, or far down at the end of the docks if the time could have passed. At no point would our crew be a few yards away and not talk to guests or let them in - and passengers/crew on the boat literally can't see the gate at all from our boat location far out at the end of a dock. Not trying to nitpick, just for future travelers to understand something doesn't add up here. Regardless this was not a great experience for you, clearly, and we'd love to make it right, even if it wasn't our error. Please reach out!

Friendly crew and nice route
Crew was very helpful and friendly. It was quite windy so the upwind portion was a bit rough and wet to sit on the front. Going under the GGB seeing the Marin Headlands and all the kite boarders was great and the downwind portion was smooth and pleasurable.

Completely scam...
Completely scam experience, we were there waiting for around 45 minutes and no one showed up. We tried to call them but no one picked up, and none of their staff members called us back. Phone line is completely unreachable and they refused to communicate. Would not recommend having your money stolen here by this completely fraudulent "business", can't run fast enough.

Thank you for writing Angel, clearly something was lost in the communication through TripAdvisor/Viator, but we have processed a refund just to make sure things are right. For future readers, I think we can all agree from our history that Adventure Cat is far from a scam. On this specific departure we don't have any record of issues, and we did check in all other guests (including some from Viator) successfully all the way from 3pm to 3:30pm....so we are still trying to figure out where you missed us. Hopefully you can come enjoy a sail in the future!

Incredible experience & sail!!!
What an incredible experience from start to finish! Crew and boat were amazing! Equipped with knowledge and jackets if we got chilly during the ride + a bar (bonus!!). We actually got to participate in raising the sail which was a bucket list activity for me! Pictures/sights & views were unreal- SF cityscape, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz & wildlife!

Chad was our Captain and he was friendly and knowledgeable. They even made the experience interactive if you wanted to participate.

A lovely day on the Bay!
Booked this tour on a whim when I came to the Bay Area last week to visit friends who just moved there and it was such a fun little jaunt! Easy to find and on time. The group was not too big and the two staff members were very friendly—one of them helping people take the best pictures and the other allowing little kids a supervised turn at the helm. But the best part for us was that it wasn't a narrated tour, just relaxing and beautiful! They had coats for people to wear if they got cold and a small bar on board. If you want to stay perfectly warm, and seated, and never get a droplet of water on you this is not your tour. But if you want your hair whipping and you don't mind climbing around a bit, this boat ride is totally worth it!

It was a fun experience in SF for me and my friends! The crew was great and we were lucky enough to even see the dolphins :)
