Besøget begynder i Piazza Vittorio Veneto, en smuk plads fra det 19. århundrede, hvorfra du kan nyde en panoramaudsigt over Civita og Sasso Barisano. Vi bevæger os gennem de smalle gader i centrum og beundrer værker af kunstnerisk og arkitektonisk betydning op til den imponerende belvedere fra Piazza Duomo med udsigt over Sasso Barisano. Vi fortsætter mellem trinnene i Sassi, indtil vi når nogle hulekirker, et typisk møbleret hulehus og en historisk kælder.

The guide VITO was excellent, and despite the difficulties of climbing up and down the streets of Matera and the heat... he was also able to lighten the mood with small jokes and anecdotes. Very straightforward in his explanation but very thorough. Very willing to provide any information... Highly recommended

Both the tour of the stones with Marisa and the visit to the Murgia and its rock churches at sunset with the guide Antonio were beautiful and well organized. Both guides were very knowledgeable and kind.

We did, always with Info Matera, two more guided tours: "sunset over the Murgia" and Old Bari. The guides (Giuseppe, Raffaele, and Lia) were exceptional, very knowledgeable and available, absolutely not boring, in fact, very nice... Kudos to the organization that managed to arrange our guided tour of Old Bari in just a few hours. Well done!

We did a guided tour of the Sassi di Matera with Info Matera and in particular with Giuseppe, and it was a really beautiful experience. Giuseppe is a very knowledgeable, engaging and passionate guide: you can immediately feel how much he loves his city and how much he wants to transmit its history and traditions. The tour was very interesting and never boring, full of anecdotes and clear explanations that made us discover Matera from an authentic perspective. In addition to the most famous places, Giuseppe pointed out details that alone we would never have captured. An experience that really enriches the visit and allows you to grasp the essence of the city. Absolutely recommend! :)
Very professional guide and very pleasant tour not to be missed. As the guide put it: "visiting a tourist spot without a guide is like a silent movie."
Matera is beautiful and the 2-hour walking tour is 30 minutes allows you to know many curiosities about the most iconic places. We did the tour yesterday morning with Antonia: she guided us in the history of stones with great competence and professionalism. Very good! The price is correct (20 euros each) and includes admission to the museum and the cave church of the Madonna dell'Idris. Super recommended.
