My guide Jason was really helpful and knowledgeable in relaying the history of Sarawak. Tour ended up being a private one since no one else had made a booking that day, so good for visitors who prefer smaller groups anyway! Pace was unhurried, and it’s a great tour to learn lots about Sarawak culture and history. Lots of opportunities to buy and try some of the local snacks there, and visitors get to witness an entertaining display of dance performances at the end. Tip - it can get quite hot depending on the weather that day, so wear lots of sunblock and hat if you have them.
Wynn , my guide made my experience very interesting. Every tribe dwelling that he took me to , explained the history , the tradition , the significance of artefacts I saw around . The duration was just right . Beautiful layout , the cultural performance added a star to the visit. My visit was worth the price .
Our guide Julian was very knowledgeable of cultural village, introduce us to each member of house and was very helpful during our trip
What a fantastic experience, awesome. Eng our guide for the day was an absolute delight; extremely knowledgeable and full of facts about the area, the culture, history etc. Would highly recommend her; great personality.
We booked this tour with Klook.com Our appointed tour guide/ driver Mr Malindo, came early to pick us up from our hotel. He was very polite and friendly and a very careful driver. His Vehicle a Nissan van was in excellent condition, aircon was cool. We were guided through the Village with great explanations about the different tribes, their livelihood and views of their lodgings. The tour ended with a Cultural Dance Show , not to be missed. Beautiful dance and music. A must do tour, as this is to know about the roots of people in Kuching, Sarawak. Highly recommended!
Hey, I was a bit skeptical as much of it is under renovation, people were very welcoming and wanted to tell me everything, and everything turned out to be positive, especially when a fantastic show, which is on twice a day, came on, 40 degrees, not much energy, then you enter a huge showroom with nice seats and air conditioning, keep it up, it's worth everything, money well spent
We travelled less than an hour from the city on the Cultural Village Tour with an experienced local driver - it was one of the highlights of our trip to Kuching. We learned about the different tribes and longhouses for each, with welcome dancers and music each time we entered. There was cooking in some, handcraft exhibitions in some, and it is always interesting learning about how different cultures have lived. To finish off, the joint performance in the main hall from each of the longhouses was beautiful and brilliant, seated on very comfortable chairs with all the lights, music and entertainment of a world-class event. Definitely include the Sarawak Cultural Village on your agenda.
The guide, Danny, was terrific. He knew the history of Malaysia and described many sights along the way to the Cultural Center.
Good guide & good company...two other couples join in our group...very sporting & nice couples . enjoy the area..well kept .. although our of the house has a roof nearly collapsing..hope improvement done
The cultural show was very entertaining and enjoyable. The staff doing the demonstrations for crafts (like blow pipe making) should be more active though.
