Sandwich Harbor Adventure: Sæler og Sandwich Harbour Dune Drive

We started with the Seal Tour, which was already an extraordinary experience. Seeing the seals up close was unforgettable and our captain, Okkie, was a very interesting man who made the trip even more enjoyable with his knowledge and stories. We loved talking to him. Our Sandwich Harbour Adventure, including the seals, Sandwich Harbour and the dune drive, was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. The landscapes were breathtaking, and the places we visited were truly impressive. A special thank you goes to our guide, Gerhard, who made us feel safe and well looked after at all times. With his great sense of humor, he answered all our questions, explained everything perfectly and showed us some of the most amazing places we have ever seen. His friendliness, professionalism and enthusiasm made the experience truly special. The snack provided during the tour was excellent as well and completed the experience perfectly. Thank you, Okkie and Gerhard, for making this adventure so special and unforgettable. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Namibia!

Unforgettable experience! Winton, our friendly host/driver, picked us up from our hotel, drove with awesome skill, maneuvered through the dunes to all the best highlight spots. Knowledgeable, informative, cheerful, kept us happy and excited all the way. A lunch spread on the dunes kept us well-fed, the stories kept us engaged and Winton's drivint dropped our jaws.

Well organised, friendly, informative guide. Watch Top Gear Beach Buggy episode for example of dune driving. Certainly lived up to name of Namibian rollercoaster. My husband is used to beach driving and we had vehicle but opted for tour. Was nice for him to sit back and enjoy scenery. Vehicles well maintained and felt safe. Highlight was the seals. Be prepared for the young ones to invade your peronal space. They do like to explore with their mouths just like any kid so kept fingers and toes away just in case of accidental bites. Cannot emphasise how much we much loved this bit of experience, unmissable.

We had an amazing day tour with our driver and guide Tongai. He has a great knowledge of all of Namibia, history and the natural world, and is a great communicator. He’s also a masterful fine driver - the dunes we explored and the views of the sea from the top were amazing. We even saw humpbacks from the top of the dunes! A great way to spend a day, and a hearty local lunch too.

A great day with breathtaking views and a bit of adventure feeling. We can highly recommend the excursion. From our guide Victor, we learned a great deal about the region in particular and Namibia in general. Overall perfect!

This trip was really worth it!! - top communication - very friendly pickup - LeClue is a fun and competent guide who also likes to implement a spontaneous, unplanned photo/infostop - paddling with the seals was mega! A must for all animal lovers! (Attention: you will also like to get wet here, so either put on fast drying clothes or have change clothes with you. If you are afraid for your phone - it is best to pack a waterproof case) You should not forget that the seals are wildlife and of course it is not guaranteed that you will get a friendly visit on your kayak. However, we were lucky and had some seals on board our kayak. Even without so close contact it is impressive to paddle between the colony of seals! - LeClue then maneuvered us through the dunes with a lot of fun and enthusiasm. He attaches great importance to the most beautiful spots without having to drive to many other vehicles and still giving his guests the best views and experiences. He answers all questions, has a lot of information and is always ready to joke :) - the food on the tour was top!

Thanks for a great day with LeClue. Could not think of a better guide. His driving skills/knowledge as well as the context he provided about Namibia and its wildlife, economy and history was fascinating. It was very insightful and interesting. Don’t underestimate the route - it can be dangerous without a Guide as you can get stuck easily. I’ve always felt safe with LeClue. Food and drinks were tasty with lots of variations. My highlight was the spotting of whales as well as the seal kayaking.
