Rejseplan

We went with Jesus from the Camarones location, and it was absolutely amazing. Our family was well taken care of and had lunch afterwards on the beach. The tour takes 3 hours or so, but you see so much nature the time goes by quickly. We saw 1200 flamingos at once and a few hundred taking short flights. The 2nd location requires an SUV given its terrain, so although its shorter to the birds a van/taxi WILL NOT make the terrain. The Camarones location is easy with any vehicle to visit.
Just thirty minutes from Rioacha is Camarones and the Los Flamencos Sanctuary. Hasn't he gone? Cheer up. Call Jordan Pushaina and he will take care of the rest. He (or Daniel, his father) will offer you an experience that you will hardly forget. You will see hundreds of flamingos, solitary tringas, frigate birds and herons. Put on sunscreen, put on a hat and bam!, jump into the water in a canoe that is one hundred and twenty-something years old. Oh, and don't forget the binoculars. If you like ornithology and eating tasty and reasonably priced food, you should do it. Once in the canoe, ask Daniel whatever comes to mind. Friendly and him. Wise and him. At the end of the mangrove tour, go to Hostal Castillo del Mar, order two beers, some garlic shrimp with coconut rice and half a seafood casserole. The five degrees of beer, plus the 37 degrees of a normal afternoon in Camarones, will leave you groggy. But none of that matters when you have the privilege of laying your eyes on such a wonder of nature. With Jordan's permission, I share his phone number: 312 661 4529
This was quite an unexpected thrill. We actually rented a car and took a road trip so for us getting there was super easy. We pulled off the main road into the sanctuary where we paid a small fee. A guide hopped in the car (it’s mandatory to enter with a guide) and we took a ten/15 minute drive on a very sandy, unpaved road. We then parked and got on a small canoe/sailboat and made our way into the waters where flamingoes stood in the far distance (take binoculars!!) Our guide paddled us out to get a much closer look and we saw hundreds and hundreds of flamingos. Truly a site to see. We stayed on the water for about 20 minutes and then took a leisure sail back. Truly a highlight of the trip.
I did this trip with Jordan, I am a solo woman traveler and I felt secure and comfortable. The trip is kinda long and the beauty of the place is indecritible, the peace, silence and respect we need to enjoy the flamingo 🦩in their natural life. I entirely recommend Jordan he knows better the region since he is Indian from the region he is certified and has a extensive knowledge of bird's species, besides he recommended a place for lunch very tasty.
We love animals and wild life so we decided to take this one day trip to Los Flamencos, lots of agencies offered this tour but only one had it with an English speaking guide which was very important for us since we wanted to understand everything about the place. It was very informative and we did not expect so many beautiful flamingos in this sanctuary. Also the encounter with the Wayu indigenous people was a unique experience that I would never forget, Please do not miss this tour if you are in Palomino!
Wow, we ourselves are delighted with your excellent review! It's really great that you get so exited by the impressions of that Tour. We warmly welcome you to our ToBuris group and look forward to your next visit!
It is a perfect day trip for all nature fans, because here you see not only impassable lands leading through indigenous areas, but also fertile lagoons with beautiful flamingos. I really didn't think there would be that many flamingos there. Incomprehensible! Our guide offered us to take a boat to the Lagen, pushed by the Wayuu Indians. I can really only recommend this because you get even closer to the animals and have a unique view.
Mantente sano y no dejes viajar ;)
