Mød din guide og gruppe på Old Adobe Chapel, som kan krediteres for at redde Old Town San Diego takket være en bog fra 1884. Slut dig til os, når vi opdager hele historien om San Diego på stedet, hvor det hele begyndte - Old Town. Vi lærer om de oprindelige folk i området sammen med spanierne og besøger, hvor de slog sig ned, og hvordan dette blev en del af Mexico, før det blev en amerikansk stat. Undervejs vil vi høre historier om de mennesker, der boede her, og vi slutter med nogle fantastiske tacos og tequila!
Vi starter vores tur ved Adobe-kapellet, først bygget som et hjem i 1850. I 1858 blev det et kapel, efter at missionen blev lukket og tjente i den egenskab indtil 1919. Vi vil lære, at det var rammen om den fiktive karakter Ramonas bryllup fra romanen fra 1884, og hvordan denne bygning reddede kvarteret.
Der er tre historiske bygninger på dette sted, og vi vil tale om dem alle, plus beundre de århundrede gamle pebertræer. Whaley House er mest kendt for sine spøgelsesagtige beboere, og det er historisk vigtigt ud over at være hjemsøgt.
Disse victorianske bygninger blev flyttet hertil for at bevare dem fra den ekspanderende by i 1970'erne fra centrum. Alle disse huse er fra slutningen af det 19. århundrede.
Den længste infanterimarch i USA's historie fandt sted under den mexicansk-amerikanske krig i 1846-48, og dette websted fejrer den.
Hvor moderne San Diego begyndte med den første Mission og første Presidio (fæstning) etableret her i 1769. Efter dette område var forladt flyttede beboere ned ad bakken til det, der nu er Old Town State Park.
Dette er efterkommeren af kirken på vores mødested og er over 100 år gammel.
Efter at Presidio lukkede, blev dette den vigtigste katolske kirkegård i San Diego, og mange af San Diegos tidlige beboere er begravet her.

A really good in depth trip round old town and unexpected extras like trying tortillas and tacos would definitely recommend this tour it's about 3 hours

I book tour on a last minute decision to get away with my girlfriend. It was something that we both needed. We got there a couple of minutes late but were able to catch up with the group. I must say our tour guide Jennifer did an amazing job. Not only gave us a tour around old town San Diego, but was nice, friendly, funny and gave us some history facts of Old Town that my girlfriend and I both enjoyed. We ended the tour at El Agave Restaurant and Tequileria. I must say the restaurant was nice. Tequila bottles everywhere. Friendly staff. Tacos were really good. The drinks were top tier 10/10. Thank you to Daniel for making the best margaritas ever. We will definitely be back to Old Town soon.

We enjoyed this experience as there were only three of us so it was easy to ask questions and hear all the commentary. Our guide, Jennifer, was great. The route was a fairly easy walk with only one long hill. The tacos and tequila was a perfect way to end the tour. The restaurant was very nice and outside the main part of Old Town so quiet and relaxing.
