Royal Flying Doctor Service Tourist Facility: To Ikoniske Territory Stories

Beskrivelse

It's wonderful presentation about the Royal flying doctors service and also the bombing of Darwin harbour.
Very informative experience. Recommend to everyone to support such a worthwhile service
Hard to get to but great experience from entering to existing. Really informative and lots of interactive content. The virtual reality glasses really put you in the action for both the royal flying doctors and Darwin bombing.
Really enjoyed our visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Museum in Darwin. It was interesting, easy to walk through, and had a great mix of history, stories, and interactive displays. The hologram movies experience was a highlight, and it gave us a real appreciation for the incredible work the Flying Doctor service has done across Australia. The Bombing of Darwin section was also very well done and quite moving. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole place was well set up. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Darwin.
The staff were lovely and welcoming. The RFDS Darwin exhibit at the wharf was excellent, with a thoughtfully designed museum and a couple of informative 15-minute videos about the Darwin Harbour bombing and the history of the RFDS. I've always had great respect for this organisation, and visiting was a unique experience. It made me feel proud to be an Australian.
The history of the war in Darwin was an eye opening experience. To be able to experience it "first hand" through the use of VR headsets was amazing. RFDS encounter was also high quality. We could have spent half a day here.
Amazing experience and very hands on with many visual interactions. A short film clip x 2 and an awesome VR experience of the WW2 bombing. Very informative - highly recommend
An excellent museum with well done videos about the history of both the Royal Flying Doctors Service and the Japanese attack on Darwin & Australia in 1942. The virtual reality experience of the latter was particularly enjoyable and well done. Would do again.
Lovely place to visit. Very informative. Loved the headphones and even being able to sit in the plane. ✈️ the movie showing was great. I missed the bonbing video but overall. It was excellent
I was first here opening day in July 2016 which I mention back then as an experience that "hits you in the feels", i did not expect this time, 10 years later for the experience to be even more amazing, educational and heartbreaking. The added Hologram theatre shows, the giant curved visual screen in the main room and the immensely upgraded VR Experience of the 'Bombing of Darwin' itself. The graphics and visuals are nothing short of memorable. This experience is definitely worth the entry fee. Especially for something so historically unknown and downplayed to the rest of Australia, at the time, and still to so many even today. A special shout out to staff member Emily for her enthusiastic and informative customer service! Territorians just do customer service better in their own, unique way👌🏽
