Din superyachtoplevelse begynder, når vi sejler ud fra Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) og sætter kursen mod stilheden i Singapores rolige havnevand. Mens besætningen skalerer masterne for at sætte sejl, foldes havet rundt om dit eget private bord på det øverste dæk med den traditionelle rigning af denne 4-mast 22-sejls luksus Tall Ship, der tårner sig op over hovedet og skaber en helt unik stemning som ingen anden! Siloso Point er adskilt fra Labrador Park på fastlandet Singapore af mindre end en halv kilometer hav. Denne nærhed har brændt en urban legende om en undervands tunnel forbinder britisk bygget fæstninger og artilleri batterier på begge steder. Trods mange udgravninger og restaureringer er der ikke fundet nogen tunnel, og ingen af dem er vist på kort eller dokumenter. Navnene på steder og naturlige egenskaber på Blakang Mati afspejler de lokale samfund, økonomisk og social historie, samt øens flora og fauna. I nærheden af, hvor Fort Siloso står, var der i dag et område kendt som Sarang Rimau, Tiger's Den på Malay, der bruges af Orang Laut til at afspejle deres viden om området.
Siloso Beach, en af tre strande med svømmelagoner skabt af Sentosa Development Corporation, SDC i 1970'erne og 1980'erne har en rig historie. Navnet kommer fra det malaysiske ord for "sten", oprindeligt et strategisk forsvarspunkt. Det blev omdannet til et pulserende turist hotspot i 1970'erne. I dag er Siloso Beach kendt for sin beachvolley, vandsport og livligt natteliv, hvor energien aldrig falmer, og festerne fortsætter.
Palawan Beach, er opkaldt efter det malaysiske ord "Pahlawan", der betyder kriger eller helt. I den koloniale periode besøgte britiske soldater Palawan Beach for at beskytte svømmere mod hyppige syn af hajer og saltvandskrokodiller. Briterne opførte hajhegn kendt som "svømmende pagars" på malaysisk. Heldigvis findes disse rovdyr ikke længere omkring Sentosa, hvilket gør det til et sikkert og behageligt sted for strandgæster i dag.
I 2003 blev Sentosa Cove lanceret som en 117-ha indhegnet enklave med 2600 boliger, herunder havfrontvillaer, herregårde og ejerlejligheder. Af de 117 hektar er 100 hektar genvundet jord. Området omfatter fem kunstige øer Coral Island, Paradise Island, Treasure Island, Sandy Island og Pearl Island, der for det meste er reserveret til bungalows. Boligudviklingen er koncentreret i de nordlige og sydlige områder. I juni 2015 havde Sentosa Cove over 5000 beboere, der boede i 2160 boliger, primært ejerlejligheder, terrassehuse og bungalows.
Lazarus Island, tidligere kendt som Pulau Sakijang Pelepah, hvilket betyder øen af hjorte og palmer på malaysisk, husede fangenskab i slutningen af det 19. århundrede. Had my proposal to my girlfriend and now my fiancé, she said yes! Staffs helped a lot all throughout the cruise. They also took photos and videos for me. Food was lovely although you might want to encourage the chef not to hover over passengers while they are selecting their food. Wine quality was terrible. Flowers were beautiful. BUT seriously people stop with all the marketing emails. I signed up with Trip Advisor not with you. But you are abusing the access to send me way too many emails. Over 30 odd. And when I ask you to stop you then sent me two on the same day. So I asked again. And now you send me 3 of the same. Which is why I have rated this experience so poorly.

We understand that you felt overwhelmed by the number of emails. However, it’s possible that a technical issue — such as duplicate delivery caused by email syncing, forwarding, or spam filtering — may have made it seem like you received more than you actually did. I went on this lovely cruise as a birthday surprise invitation by my wife. The ship is beautiful, well maintained, and the staff were generally kind and courteous. The food was also tasty, albeit some portions were somewhat small. (Par for the course in Singapore). While the service was good, I found that the service staff is not empowered to do what is necessary to delight the customer. For example, I was set to order a Long Island ice tea but I didn’t like Cuervo tequila and asked nicely if they would use Don Julio instead. The waiter looked at me as if I was from Mars, but he proceeded to tell me that he would have to check with his manager! He came back in a few minutes and promptly told me “So sorry, cannot”. At $25 dollars per drink, I would have expected a bit more flexibility and accommodation. If your business is in the hospitality industry, then this shouldn’t be such a difficult guest request. Similarly situation occurred as I asked for a 2nd roll of bread. There seems to be a scarcity mindset on board, which is incongruent with general principles of hospitality. I would have been more inclined to order more drinks if I the manager had been a bit more thoughtful and accommodating.

The overall experience is just great. It’s a nice cruise, and all the catering staff is very attentive if you need anything. Buffet food can be a hit and miss, but no complaints here as the food was good quality as were the free flow drinks. Special thanks to Captain Mike Willie and his crew who are not only sailing the ship, but also interacting with the guests. And thanks to him for answering my nautical question as well. It is good to know that this cruise does not take place under sail, but with engine power. For sure there are operational reasons for that. If you’re looking a pure sailing cruise, do enquire before if it will be under sail or under engine power.
